This says I can't destroy buildings because I have no buildings.

It had a weak bladder and so couldn't restrict itself to just secreting one fluid?

I sometimes find it's a pity that the AI can't see what you draw with those things. If I'm gonna be leaving a game for a while I'll write KILL! in big letters over my next target. That would be rather intimidating for him.

Every now and again I am amused by the redrawing of the city graphic when buildings are added. I actually remembered to take a screenshot of the last time :)

I built the hanging gardens, and the neighbouring town simply grew up in the various canals...

Then a bit later, some better town planning seems to have been done...

Then alter after I built the Taj Mahal, the Hanging Gardens were moved wholesale downtown and the Taj Mahal was plopped in the spot vacated by the Hanging Gardens...

Then here's another cultural weirdness:

That last post went weird itself and somehow I got an extra picture in there...? The last one was of the list of excuses Izzy made for being furious at me. She's at -18 - I've seen -52 after I repeatedly nuked someone in the modern era, but this list is probably the most comprehensive I've seen even if the numbers aren't large. The only one missing is the nukes! Then again, you all knew that Izzy could be har to get on with :)

Oh, to be a builder in Civ land. They must get to charge ridiculous fees for relocating giant buildings whenever the ruler's got a new favourite he wants to see out of the palace window.

I like it if you have a GS build an academy in a city. He raises his beaker, glows and suddenly the entire city has shifted around. Tis rather scary.

Oh, and my record for pissing off Izzy is -108. She had a rather large empire and I had a rather larger number of nukes...

Hey guys... I'm new around here and to Civ IV.... anyways, I was playing a game on Noble as France using a map script from this site callled "Tectonics"

So check this out... how common is this? :goodjob:
Yes thats
not one
not two
not three
not four
not five
but SIX gold hills :king:

Green light huh? ;) ... spooky music ... :D

Very impressive. You'd need a lot of nukes for that! :) That -52 I referred to was Monty I seem to remember, and I went berserk with the nukes in a modern start. :D

I was running what I like to think of as a "nuke economy". IE you've been playing on a difficulty slightly too low for you, victory is assured and you want to go out with a really, really, really big bang.

That's some cool city!! :goodjob:
Also, welcome to the forums Chris! :band: :D

I think that was rather a waste of valuable commerce yield from the gold mines. There is not a high food value plot, which means that ur city would be rather small and some gold mines would not be wokred on.
Still, six gold mine IS rare, but i have seen other things. Once i have four elephants as starting location. And i have seen six silk, probably better than gold mines because they are on grassland.

That's very uncommon. The lack of food means you won't be able to do much with the gold besides trade it, even after Biology.

Is this BtS? I'd be striving to found Sid's Sushi and/or General Mills so you can work those gold mines in the late game.

No, not BtS... I'm a mac user so just Warlords... :(
Yeah... I know what you mean about the food...
I was tempted to crap open worldbuilder but i resisted the urge

i was on my way to go capture Teoihuacan from the barbs. it was going to get me close border tension with Wang Kon but eh, small price to pay for a free city, and it had really cute piggies in it! the barbs had only two warriors in there, not even archers yet, so piece of cake, i sent an axe over, and another was a few steps behind him.

when axe #1 was in position to attack, this is what i saw ...

ThanksWangKon.jpg

apparently Wang had tried to take the city while i was walking over. he killed one of the barb warriors i guess, since there was only one left in there. he didn't take the city, so he wasn't very lucky in that sense. but he had awesome luck in one way ... he survived at 0.0/3 health!

i've seen 0.0 health in screenshots before but this time it really made me giggle, since i got to gloat too. "thanks Wang, soften 'em up all you want as long as i end up with the city. i'm not after the exp, i just want the ivory and the piggies. oink oink!" it's turning out to be quite a nice city. maybe i should rename it Gloatsville or something.

EDIT: it got better!

SilverGloatsville.jpg

i have settlers/safe-keepers on carracks right now in search of new lands and goodies. one of the goodies i want most is silver, the one metal that i don't have. there's some up north but it's in utter crap locations. well, i just popped a silver at this city! what's more, on the VERY first turn the mine existed hahahaha. i know for certain, since the worker was standing on the hill when the message appeared, waiting on an order. i'd had him mine the hill before roading it, since no other worker was going to join him so no reason to make their travel faster. sweeeeeeeeeeet! +2 happy in all cities with forges, which is at least 9 cities, since i got and completed the Master Blacksmith quest :). yeah i got a slave revolt in the capital while it's building a wonder, and which takes my discovery from one turn to two, but it's still a very good year for the Candyland Empire. Teoihuacan has now officially been renamed Gloatsville *giggle*.
