i was on my way to go capture Teoihuacan from the barbs. it was going to get me close border tension with Wang Kon but eh, small price to pay for a free city, and it had really cute piggies in it! the barbs had only two warriors in there, not even archers yet, so piece of cake, i sent an axe over, and another was a few steps behind him.
when axe #1 was in position to attack, this is what i saw ...
apparently Wang had tried to take the city while i was walking over. he killed one of the barb warriors i guess, since there was only one left in there. he didn't take the city, so he wasn't very lucky in that sense. but he had awesome luck in one way ... he survived at 0.0/3 health!
i've seen 0.0 health in screenshots before but this time it really made me giggle, since i got to gloat too. "thanks Wang, soften 'em up all you want as long as i end up with the city. i'm not after the exp, i just want the ivory and the piggies. oink oink!" it's turning out to be quite a nice city. maybe i should rename it Gloatsville or something.
EDIT: it got better!
i have settlers/safe-keepers on carracks right now in search of new lands and goodies. one of the goodies i want most is silver, the one metal that i don't have. there's some up north but it's in utter crap locations. well, i just popped a silver at this city! what's more, on the VERY first turn the mine existed hahahaha. i know for certain, since the worker was standing on the hill when the message appeared, waiting on an order. i'd had him mine the hill before roading it, since no other worker was going to join him so no reason to make their travel faster. sweeeeeeeeeeet! +2 happy in all cities with forges, which is at least 9 cities, since i got and completed the Master Blacksmith quest

. yeah i got a slave revolt in the capital while it's building a wonder, and which takes my discovery from one turn to two, but it's still a very good year for the Candyland Empire. Teoihuacan has now officially been renamed Gloatsville *giggle*.
