That would be great i remember when Alapha Centauri first came out i was kinda hoping that would be an option.

Here's an idea: an expansion pack called "Civilization IV: Alpha Centauri" where you can either start new games in it, or load games from the end of a Civ IV scenario, er... something...like...that...eh i'll work on that idea....

SMC4AC!!!!!

i do like this idea becuase every now and then...whether you have won or not...i think seeing a little bit more gameplay would be nice...can anyone honestly tell me that they havent had one kick ass game that they wanted to keep playing "damn the fact im getting no score"

Very few i would imagine. I often continue games just beacuse i can and im having fun. You cant do that on multiplayer whatsoever regardless of what victory condition was achived. Thats alittle irritating to say the least at times.

maybe making the future age optional...after you win under some condition you advisor pops up and says" sir, we already outsmart everbody, should we continue to research techs to prove our further superiority" lol i dunno. but yah i really like playing games even if i won...just to settle a final score or maybe its a scary attachment to my "civ" citizens.

After 10 days of voting the ayes have it - 26-20-3 ! :)

I hope the developers will pay attention when planning the xpack.

If the AI is better and the game is rebalanced (and, of course, remember multiplayer) we may find ourselves playing games that remain competetive longer - hence a future age may be helpful.

I beleve there should be a future age in the game. In fact, there should be an ability to add in ages into the game.

What is this? I've heard of it but don't know. Is it a game? A scenario? Or... something else?
Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Alpha Centauri. Nothing important.

YESSSS!!! FUTURE AGE! GIMMEGIMMEGIMME!

no serîously this is something i dreamed about since civ1. Civ needs a vision of the future, without it the game feels incomplete. PLEASE gimme some future age! :)

Someone Call Sid And Tell Him To Make A Smac 2!!!

I deleted his number and blocked it. The guy was constantly harassing me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Joking of course, would be cool to talk to the guy that got us all addicted to this phenomenon... Plus, I would like to take him on in a multiplayer game. Sid on SID,

They said it would but the future tech I am looking forward to is giving you submarine cities, major-scale terraforming, hover tanks and Battlemechs! :D

Yeah I know that we have seen some of it in CtP. But geez, I LOVED it! :goodjob:

I guess I will be the first voice of dissent in this thread. There are many problems with Firaxis making a future age for CIV. First, people can already cite the inaccuracy of historical development and technology. A future age would probably cause more problems with complaints. Let modders get the complaints and handle the debate. Second, this is content that has to be researched, drawn, written about, and in general requires money and developement time. Modders do all those things for free. Thirdly, a future age extension requires extensive playtesting which takes even more time. This is another factor that modders can do. Fourthly, Side Meier's had very little to do with SMAC. Brian Reynolds is the man we want, but he no longer works for Firaxis.

id rather debate the accuracy of the unknown...then the well known past...like i said...make it optional..maybe an expansion that will work with all saved games from vanilla or something

Those are all good points, but I have a counterpoint that beats them all: it would be fun.
