I would not like leaders to dress differently in different eras or in different governments, solely for the fact that I think FXS couldn't make it work. Aztec would wear suits in the modern era, which I think just promotes the western view even more.

now if we can somehow put our resident must sleep to get announcements member of this fine community to a medically induced coma until FXS finally announces whatever they are doing.

I believe Bite has a new job. So that one is taken care of. Send the tier 2/3 spies to find the others. I`ll suggest one for spotting lurkers on civfanatics and one more for Canberra campus.

*shudders at memories of cringeworthy Civ3 Leader Portraits in Era Attire, with Abe Lincoln's Visigoth helmet and Alexander's Mafia thug cut suit*

Changing leader portraits is fun. It's the same as the Council from Civ2 or Command & Conquer: Red Alert's Story Videos (no need to link them here). In that sense, they would feel wrong in a civ game that wants to teach you about history. I can't imagine starting the game up to "Baba Yetu" and then see Punk Joan of Orleans afterwards. But Punk is fun and seeing Teddy in a full suit in 2500 BC is as anachronistic as that which is why in my mind the immortal leaders have to go. (see Humankind for a solution to that), but you can also just give every civ an unnamed Ambassador and make them change outfits.

In any case, it would need to be done right and it would be a totally different game than what we have now. I'd like them to try something more light hearted.

Another exploit?? Well I guess that's another nail in the coffin for random MP until it's fixed.

Interesting viewpoint. I love Civ VI but its biggest non gameplay flaw to me is its pop history, irreverent tone which permeates everything from quotes to Civilopedia entries. I vastly prefer the atmosphere of V which was more serious. I was hoping they'll go back to being more serious with VII.

I do like the jokes, and they've always been in the franchise; but they hit them too hard in 6. They're better (and more effective) if just sprinkled in.

@pokiehl See that Screenshot above for what I mean with "not serious". In Civ6 there's the tech quotes and the "bright" graphics. But they could go full Monkey Island if they wanted to. Dial that up to eleven. Crusader Kings has a much more realistic and sober map (but their characters can go into all sort of crazy stuff as well) . I'm just saying there's a range and I can see a potential in a game where they accentuate that even more. I do think that the current mishmash doesn't work. See Cleopatra trying to seduce you. No?

Will the thread title be changed every three months according to the current season?
I believe we are currently already playing the final version of Civilization 6.

At this rate we may need to change the year as well. Eventually we'll get into Autumn 2022 update while we are still all here waiting for new from Firaxis.
