[GS] Future Update?

Yes, it could mean something. It doesn't have to though. It could also be coincidence. So you can't really read anything from it and it's best to just move on. But of course, we are on civfanatics here, so feel free to speculate.

Notre Dame is such an obvious choice for a Wonder and with the fire earlier this year I really felt they would include it in a third expansion.

So this is the week when announcment is most possibly, and then after every next day is less likely ... right ?

Until the New Year, certainly. But if nothing is announced this year we may still get something coming out in summer announced early 2020.

They've never given us a reason either why Isabella is not in the game despite being on that pixeled leader poster in that background of a video before the release of the game either.

In the spirit of speculation, they could add a second Spanish leader along with Portugal and a Portuguese leader, and make Philip leader of both. Actually I don't think that's going to happen at all, but I guess it's doable.

Have you got a link to that video? I don't think I've ever watched it.

Edit: And I'm also with the group who read the twitter as meaning "we debated which wonders to add in a 3rd exp and we decided there's already too much focus on Europe so we're not adding Notre Dame", ence the public 'bullying'.

General observation: You do realize that the more functions and complexity of said functions you put in this game the worse the A.I. will preform?

The base quality of the AI is not going to improve much and I wouldn't expect it until Civ 7 when we should expect better machine learning coming into play. However, they can and should improve the performance of the AI in Civ 6, which I think is accomplish-able with a bunch of tweaks and better scaled bonuses per difficulty level. The last patch proved that.

E.g.
- make Siege units stackable like support units. Honestly, I think this would be THE game changer in regards to land combat. AI can't handle the current combat system, so change it so it doesn't have to. There's two big issues atm: siege units and naval units. Rather than hoping for some AI overhaul which is not coming, make some reasonable changes.
- make the AI properly distinguish between naval and land military might, so that Dido doesn't declare war on me when all she's got are ships.
- make land units stackable on water tiles with naval units and give them automatic escort. Then program AI to always use naval units to escort land units across water. No more Alexander getting wrecked because all his land units perish at sea.
- make the AI focus exclusively on military units while at war and only stop if they have at least 150% of player's strength and switch back focus if it falls below 100%, for instance.
- Make the AI aggressively seek joint wars and give use to the 'join ongoing war'.
- Tweak Science/Culture output increases per era so that the AI remains a threat for the entirety of the game, rather than losing steam around Renaissance.

Anyway, making the AI handle combat properly is the crux of everything. If the human player can't capture cities easily, that along with the tweaked science/culture should be enough to give the player a challenge.

Been reading this thread backwards. Corkscrews and spirits in military formation? You've all gone quite mad

Anyway, what's Eagle's Pursuit theory regarding the mask? I see it mentioned but couldn't find it.

He calculated that if they announce the expansion on some concrete day, and if it follows the usual features and leader reveal schedule, it would end up being released on Carnival. Or at least I think it was something like this.

Said to post here, is it right?
Because militarism is not an ideology, obviously. Civ is a game that let you burn down everything and kill everyone if you want, and for some reason you obsess about a word.
Just oppositely, I am not obsessed. I don't object versus using term or concept of fascism in this game, though it's counts as most possibly evil thing in my country. So I wonder why some object using racism, which is millions times better in my book.

Yes, because real colonialism is theft, and the colonizers needed a way to deflect to not feel bad about it. In civ, colonialism is just playing the game the way you are meant to, by fighting other players and expanding your civilization.
It's historical game, eh? I expect colonialism and other things be same as IRL.

And yeah, more than half of Russians honor Stalin now.

Just my two cents on the tweet.

I would read it as him being upset at Notre Dame being once again left out (presumably from a finalized but unannounced XP3).

It's hard to believe that natural wonders is a part of the game for this long and still no grand canyon, ever, eh?

It's just a hole in the ground man. I know it's like a local feature here and we're supposed to be all yay us but it's really not that impressive after you've sort of glanced at it and gone 'huh, neat.' There are many other locations that are far more impressive that I'd put as natural wonders before this weirdly successful tourist trap.

There is still more pointing in the direction of a third expansion or more content at least than nothing - so at this point unless/until the Complete Edition appears or they actually say 'we're done', everything could mean something

Remove roads from traders. Or came up with some better idea on how to tell them NOT TO GO ON WATER OR INTO ENEMY TERRITORY.
Some drawing mechanic would be cool, it would not require to remove the traders ability.

The fast road deployment does lower the number of clicks just apparently, the game tactics became tedious and even unbearable at points...
I hope this can be fixed before apocalypse.

These forums are most certainly an appropriate place for discussing game-breaking bugs - but it should be reported in the bugs forum. Scanning through the thread subject lines over there, it looks like maybe it hasn't been officially reported there? Someone should, with an unmodded save and instructions on how to take advantage of the bug. (I have no idea how it works, and YouTube isn't where I dig around for Civ info.)

Moderator Action: This thread is not appropriate for discussing the details of game breaking bugs. The forums are the place to post about bugs as we have a bug forum that Firaxis reads. You can ask for a bug to be squashed here and link to the bug forum. Please allow staff to define what should, or should not, be posted. Thanks.

Firaxis is already aware of the bug . Reddit is also filled with people doing it, so by now it's hard for Firaxis to miss that this is a thing and how people are doing it. There's plenty of examples.

If we get a third expansion next year instead of a patch now, I hope they release a hotfix ASAP. I don't play MP so it doesn't affect me but it can be a problem for people who does.
