FW or MGE??

I'm creating a new fantasy based scenario and I've been thinking making it on giga map but then it wouldn't be able to work with FW. So I'm asking should I do it only for MGE with giga map (more space to move troops etc. but might cause quite long marching distances that might effect on AI) or continue working with large map so also FW owners could play it? Please, tell me your opinion.

Honestly, making scenarios isn't going to make you any money so you may as well design them for your enjoyment first and foremost.

However you should also consider that with Gigamaps there is the temptation to max out on cities (to 255), which can still be well-spread out. The distances involved mean that the unit limit (2048) is more easily reached, because of the lower attrition rate.

Also, you should be considering the amount of event space you need as a primary factor, because with MGE you can squeeze in a extra 35-40% (in theory the dump is 32Kb compared to 16Kb, but that's just marketing).

There are other differences between the two, such as AI aggressiveness and civilopedia support; but MGE users can always play scenarios built with FW. FW users cannot play scenarios with over-sized maps or use MGE length event scripts.

My advice: go for the lowest common denominator (FW).
 
However I'm starting to turn on the MGE side. But do you people play the scens with sounds or without sounds?
 
i play without mostly
 
I prefer with, but half the time the designer's leave the job incomplete, and with unit sounds that is a real turn-off.
 
Soooo many plays without sounds.. I have sounds for some units but we'll see.. I think I keep my large map and atleast my first scen considering this fantasy world I created will be able to be played with FW and MGE.. though it might became the sad truth that it will work best with multiplayer game..(have some problems with that stupid AI)
 
Maybe you should make a poll for these things?
