G-Major 16

Sad this gauntlet was messed up with few things, score sounds interesting. Definitely large map that has to be played actively for 500+Ad is criplling for my comp. Also now only way is domination with Inca. Difficulty is fine though for more submits. -Dracandross

That's for sure. In the later half of the game it was taking 15 seconds in between each click on a unit in a stack of doom. It's fortunate that I know the keyboard shortcuts like shift-click, ctrl-click, and alt-click on a unit in a stack to reduce the micromanagement of the stack (see manual for details). Even though I run a Shuttle XPC with Athlon 3400+/7600GS I'm guessing it's my insistence on running 1600x1200 on a 20 inch monitor that really slows down the game on large maps. Took many evenings to finish that game.

My game is accepted! Thanks! It is really truth that one crash point in 390AD do not affect rest game flow.

It was really hard game - more than 25 hours long! My PC worked well but each turn took a lot of time. There was more than 100 workers to control and about 50 cities (I did not count them so far).

the palace also provides +8 commerce. just a clarification, you're a better player than i am and i'm not disagreeing that vassalage can be the best choice even when that is considered :).

After I wrote that I realized that I was forgetting a couple of things about the capital. And don't be so modest. From what I've seen and read you are just a very conservative player, not a bad thing if it were real lives on the line in an empire. I tend to be a bit conservative myself and I try to finish every game, although sometimes if it's futile I will pass it in. There is enough variety in Civ4 victory conditions that even a conservative human vs human old style board-war-gamer like myself can compete. As a result, I don't like to invade either unless I am pretty sure I can win the war. Basically, loosing is more painful to me than not getting the fastest time. As a result I don't like those cheesy multiple reload duel conquest wins either.

Congratulations! :goodjob: So how about telling us some details, like final score, civ, speed, map type, sea level, number of opponents, and anything else you would like to share. ;)

Well done! Any news on whether that is the highest scoring submission ever?

I'm down in 3rd place now, can I hang on in there for a podium finish I wonder? I'm not going to have another go, my game took me nearly 46 hours!

As you can see at pictures, score domination must be played like culture victory which consists of two parts.
1. prepare to generation of culture
2. generation of culture

There is only one difference: wen you play score domination you generate population instead of culture :)

wow! Almost 500k  That is a truly impressive score Gosha! I know it's premature but I don't think anybody is going to come close to that score!

I can't wait to see the save posted in the HOF so that I can look at the details myself.

:p Now I am sorry about my desicion. As I said before, after my game crashed I was not sure that it will be accepted and did not play as storng as it was possible. There was possibility to achieve more than 500K pionts :)

PS give me your e-mail by privat massage I'll send it to you))

Woohoo a podium finish!!!

Is Gosha's score the highest ever score submitted to the HOF?

Is Gosha's score the highest ever score submitted to the HOF?
I think it is the highest in the permanent HOF. :goodjob:

A_Turkish_Guy had the highest if you include Beta entries. The question is: Which is more impressive Gosha190 on Monarch or A_Turkish_Guy's 30-40K higher on Settler? :undecide:

Thanks for congrats! But as I think, it is more honorable to play for an earlier finish date. Because of that a very low number of players put theirs efforts to achieve high score.

It seems like the Gauntlet QScore for this Gauntlet is based on date. Shouldn't it be based on score?

:hmm: We'll look into it.
How it is going? :D

I am looking some strange things. My submission 9443 got Qscore 33.1 (only!!!) and at the same time my submission 9520 got Qscore 36. The second game was significantly easer to play and got only 323K point (first was 473K).
