I'm thinking of what version I want to run with for this gauntlet. I'm guessing BTS with the gimped AI bonuses may be the easiest version.
Moonsinger did you win your OCC game? I got 1tank/turn, but I'm finding I can't build enough units to push outwards fast enough or in more than one directions. Somebody keeps resettling every time I clear a city. Maybe my tactics are wrong.
I wasn't going to try this gauntlet (I've been a little busy), but I just noticed that it is modern start. Might as well get one of my missing Rock of Ages games. Of course, given the caliber of talent the gauntlet is attracting, I'll probably end up with a Qscore of about 6...![]()
I didn't finish it. At 1875 AD, there were two AI civs remaining. 1 of them had 4 cities and the other one had 5 cities. I had over 30 elite panzers ready to crush them...war declared and they launched the nukes.Technically, I could still win because my all my panzers weren't any where near ground zero, but I decided to start over. Next time, whoever has uranium will be the first to go.
Is large scale nuclear warfare an option, for this one?
Around 1850 something, it seems that each AI has an initial stockpile of about 2 to 3 nukes.
wow, better kill them on the first turn then.
Anyone tried a nuke+commando unit combo?
Seems hard to get a commando unit when you start in the modern age, though.
Just thinking aloud.
Do not hope I'll play 20 times to squeeze out a turn or two, thoughIn reality, at the top level the finish date is mostly affected by combat outcomes - therefore жопочасы бьют класс, as we say, or "ass-hours beat class".
RE: Vassals. I always play with them off. How do they work for conquest victory? If someone is alive, but a vassal, does that still count as conquest? Or do you need to go back and kill the vassals off?
