Galley down by the river?

Does anyone known is it possible to mod sea vessels going down by the river? Sailing in Longboat full of beserkers to Paris, arrrrr

It would be /possible/ with some form of multi domain unit that when on land could only move in tiles with rivers, but it would just look like a boat moving on land.
