Gallic Swords

Making no military units and winning is nothing amazing...

I routinely win at emporer without military...

It's a nice semi-varient...

And it really helps you work on your micro-management and proper worker usage...

Yeah, I meant military units. But, it is possible to win without ever building a unit, you could trade for workers, itd just be very tough and go for One city culture, itd be very tough, but possible.

Yeah, its fairly easy to build no military, I only ended up building because I saw Persia approaching my borders and getting very close to my towns when we still had an ROP. I immediately rushed units and sent them right before they got there, ended up smoking them off the face of the planet, well at least me and my two allies did. :mischief:

Moonsinger - I liked your advice on upgrading to Galic Swordsmen. I read this thread yesterday, and then tried a game last night using that technique. Wow, it worked great! I was able to wipe out my starting continent in no time. Thanks!

I'm glad I could help.:)

On another note, I was glad to see that you still post to these boards. I recently started playing the GOTM's again after a long hiatus. I miss not being able to read your posts or those from SirPleb. I'll have to start looking in the strategy forumns for your great advice!

I'm not very active, but I do stop by once a week. Hopefully, SirPleb will be back when Civ4 come out. I miss reading his stories too.
