Obviously, my problems are twofold. I just got CiV for my birthday, which is why I'm only JUST having these problems.

1) The DirectX 10 and 11 version for CiV starts to load, then crashes after about 2 seconds. I have a Windows 7 eMachines (not the best for gaming, I know) that isn't even 6 months old, so it SHOULD have DX 11 on it. However, the game still won't open on this version.
2) I was playing my first game, and on the interturn between turns 10 and 11, the game crashed (what a coincidence with those numbers). I thought maybe it was something with the computer, so I reloaded. Same thing happened, so I tried the typical thing - do a different action the turn before. Still no avail.

Help?

If you aren't sure if your GPU is DirectX11 capable, then it probably isn't. The only cards capable of DirectX 11 support right now are ATI/AMD 5xxx and above, and Nvidia's 4xx 'Fermi' line.

For more detailed help, it would be great if you could list:

Make and model of your CPU:
Amount and speed of RAM:
Graphics Card make and model, along with amount of video RAM:
Operating System level (home, business, ultimate), and version (32 bit or 64 bit).

If you aren't sure of these, and haven't changed anything on the machine, someone here might be able to look up that info with the model number of your computer.

Here's the dxdiag. If you need any more let me know... Also, anyone know anything on the whole interturn 10-11 thing?

LIBRARYMAINCOMP o_O.

The graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 620i) is way to weak for Civ5 (min. is 7900). I guess you could not even run the game in DX9 without any major problems.
New graphics card would probably solve the problem.

yeah my family names our computers weird things...
and it really is too weak for minimum? it runs fine graphics-wise but ok then...

It is below minimum, but that should be no reason to crash the game. It has the same capabilities as the 7900GS, it's just way slower. You should try to update the video driver.

In any case DX10/11 mode will not work as the video chip supports only DX9.

can anyone explain the game crash after turn 11? ive tested it and it happened on a different game as well but on a different but still early turn
