when I went into world builder after updating my saved game the game crashes and a graphics error pop up on my computer tells me to reduce my graphic settings or something like that. I tried again to go into world builder and was able to get in but it crashed again with the same pop up. what do I need to do to fix this? the reason I am cheating is so I can place a horse resource on the ground since there are no horses on my map and Olives so that I can get all the the roman units or Pratorians and I am playing as Rome. Is there a way to get the roman units without cheating if there is no olives on my map?

What are the specs on your computer? What size map are you on? How many civs are you trying to play against? The new World Builder has some issues, some features not working properly. But also, your game settings (world map size in particular, and number of civs) have a huge impact on how your game performs. IF the game is telling you to reduce your graphics settings, chances are that you're over-stressing your system and need to change the in-game graphics settings through the vanilla options (CTL+O) screen.

@George IIII

I fixed it, just had to lower the in game graphics settings to the lowest however I have a new problem but I'll try going into that menu as well. what are specs? I'm running a 2002 computer with windows xp with 14.7gb of free space and 3gb of ram. my grahics card is a nvidea getforce 3700 gt

@anyone

the turn times for my saved game is 30 seconds or more for how long it takes to go to the next turn, is this normal? I'm playing with 6 civs on normal map size. I played on a new game in v33 and the turn time was faster with usually a only 6 second wait until the next turn witch is much faster but I deleted that game. is there any thing I can do to make the turn time in my saved game faster, will I have to start a new game in order for it to run faster? also when I move the curser around my map to different areas the map will freeze for a few seconds to over 15 seconds or is choppy when I move to different areas of the map, what exactly do I need to do to fix that?

Do you have on all the C2C BUG options for speeding up game turns ie similtanious AI or what ever?

Moving around the map is a bit choppy at the moment. A major change to the way the graphics are done has been implemented in v33. It reduced the memory needed so much that you probably will not need to use viewports at all.

I know I have the faster turn time bug option on but what exactly are all the other bug options that you are talking about? or do I need to turn all the bug options on? I know I don't have all the bug options on. also it takes 4-5 seconds to get into the city screen, is that normal?

do i need to turn on all the bug options to speed up the game or just certain ones? I have the faster turn time option on already but I don't have all the bug options turned on. also when I go into the city screen it takes 4-6 seconds to get into it, Is that normal?

Sounds like you have the escentials set.

I don't experience this and I have a slow machine. I have no idea why you would be.

If your computer is a 2002 model you must be using a PIV processor. I tried getting info on your geforce 3700 but it's over 6 years old.

Any possible way to update your system?

Otherwise the times you are giving are surprisingly good for that old of a system and that you can play C2C at all.

unfortunately I can't update my system as I can't afford it and won't be able to afford it for a long time. If I can't get my game to play at a decent speed then I will not play it anymore until I can get my game to run at a decent speed and if getting it to run faster requires that I buy a new graphics card and/or computer then I will just have to say goodbye to c2c for a while.

Have you tried the light version of C2C ie Rocks2Rockets?

I haven't played rise to rockets yet and didn't bother with it becuase someone told me that v33 plays as fast or faster then rise to rockets. is this right? I'm hoping your tell me good news witch is that rise to rockets will play faster for me or at a decent speed. I decided to play v33 because of what I was told about improved speed and the fact that I didn't like that rise to rockets took out the futuristic city ruins or dome ruins.
Also if rise to rockets does play faster then v33 for me then will there be a final one made that has sea cities and multimaps?

C2C may well play faster than R2R now but the overhead on the memory is probably still better for R2R so it may be a solution for ya. (It's ROCKS to Rockets btw.)

well just found out that rocks to rockets is not going to add galactic era with multi maps and sea cities so I am not going to play with it in the long run. I may decide to download c2c again and start a new game instaid of my old save. If I play a small map with 5 civs will it run much faster? what are all the things I can do to make that new game run it's fastest without getting a new graphics card or/and computer? what are all the bug options I will need to check or uncheck?

Defragment your hardrive
Run only necessary programs at Startups
Use an Antivirus to delete any viruses you might have.
Play at 1024 x 720 (I think).
Play in Fullscreen Mode.
Use Game Booster.

Yes a small game with 5 Civs will run faster than a bigger one with 40 civs.

what will defragmenting my hardrive do? I hope that won't erase any of my programs will it? If I play at 1024 x 720 what size is that? tiny?, small?, standard? how do I play in full screen mode? witch I'm assuming that fullscreen mode is the regular mode c2c plays with. what is game booster and how do i use it?

Defragmentation makes your hard disk tidy and so programs will run better. It can take a long time to defrag.

1024X?? is screen resolution in the game. It is part of the game options.

Likewise Full screen is a game option (cntl-O)
