Game exits for no reason atari recommended you!

I e-mailed atari about this and their solutions didn't solve a thing. The game exits for no reason after about 10 minutes playing.
Their solutions that didn't work:
close all programs that aren't Microsoft
reinstall
put all video settings as low as they go

I asked for more help and they referred me here

My system:
AMD1900+ (1.6GHz)
640MB RAM
64MB Video Card
Windows XP

I have the latest patch (I needed it to stop a sound.dll problem)

Geez, sounds as though that's Atari's favorite solution, refer people here. They did the same to me and I can't even get the game to run.

I'm having the exact same problem? Are you talking about conquests?

I have a similar problem (Civ Vanilla Plays but Conquest wont even start)....and they recommended me here.
