Game Failure When Opening Saved Game?

Anyone else having Civ4 just randomly crash when you open a saved game? I can go hours and hours if I don't save the game and leave, but usually after five minutes of playing a saved game it will immediately crash out.

I at a huge loss. I read many posts and dont know what to do. My PC is state of the art.
