How is the upload going?
 
Well, it is now down to seven hours (and obviously 23 hours did not elapse) so I'm not sure what is going on, it is probably my connection (which sometimes sucks here, for whatever reason). I am basically done with FileFront, it always craps out on me, so what I think I'm going to do is see what type of progress gets made with this dropbox upload, and if it doesn't seem to be going well, I'll have to find a new site to host the files. Which is why I asked for some suggestions.
 
Wasn't there some good site suggestion's on the old thread?
I remember there were similar issues with the previous playtest, and I think there were some good tips form CFC members who use those sites more

I was thinking that another cool function would be adding ice breaking for work boats
It would really useful in some situations and for a few cities.
I don't want this to be too easy or powerful, so this action would also consume the boat, like creating fishing boats or anything else
 
I'd vote for that. I played a game once where I saw Barbarian cities pop up in ice-locked areas. The only way to defeat them is to nuke them, and once you're past settler, where's the fun in nuking cities?
 
This reminds me... odd game feature request...
...What are your thoughts on fixing it so nuclear plants -don't- always go Chernobyl?

This feature really, -really- bugs the crap out of me, and it makes nuclear plants an awful idea to build (especially on marathon.)
Considering that nuclear disasters are rare, and incidents of -that- nature have only happend... -once- (Chernobyl's the only really nasty one. The others are on the level with Three Mile Island.)
 
How about I have a tech turn them off?

A tech that disables meltdowns? I like it.
Not sure what tech'd fit, though. Maybe mass media. Media attention of a single nuclear disaster = people panicking = increased safety protocols.
 
I think it should be a future tech from next war
 
I'd vote for mass media, but often that's very early into the Modern Era. I don't even know how soon before that you can build Nuclear Plants, but I know that it'd be soon enough that they'd lose their gambling power pretty quickly.
 
Cold fusion would work very well, as it makes much sence
Also there would be some time in the game for nuclear meltdowns too :goodjob:

I always disliked how the roads "evolve" automatically
If you like the idea, I'm sure Thomas SG will help implementing this into Diplomacy
