Game hanging after end of turn

This game is saved at end of turn. Cleopatra wants to speak to me after I click end of turn. As soon as I speak to her and tell her I will remove my troops the game hangs. This is my first game after installing Civ3 Complete. My computer has no previous installation of Civ3 as I have not played in a couple of years and this is a new computer. I have XP Pro and service pack 2.
