Game of the Month #4 is here!

I'm a prince-level player, and just looking at the Deity-level makes me run home (avtually, I already am home, so..). I wanted to boycot this one, but because you play the Chinese, I give it a try. Here goes nothing!

Willem, go for it!! A few months ago I was barely surviving a Prince game, now my Deity level GOTM#4 is going fairly well, even though I missed Hanging Gardens (don't ever let that happen again in Deity

) Prince to Deity may be a pretty big jump, but careful planning and reading all the good tips around this site can make it happen. Best O'luck!!

Leowind, you are right! I wasn't entirely honest by the way; since GOTM3, I practised every day, first on Prince, then on King. This Deity game is going very well! I am the last left civilization (except for the Vikings, who have conquered the entire world except for me). I kicked out the English, I succeeded in building the most important wonders (I didn't miss Hanging Gardens!) and I have the UN, so the Vikings cannot fight a long war with me. Too bad the launched their spaceship; it'll arrive in 2015, the year now is 2013. Just one more turn. My score is far in the 500, and I will even have more points/percentage than in GOTM3!

Well done Willem!

I'm a little way behind you as I only just started this afternoon (at last!). So far I've got to around the year 1600 and I have only 20 cities, but I'm still top civ and the numbers growing quickly.

I had the pleasure of bribing Moscow which the barbarians had been looking after for me for a few thousand years. Size 7 and cheap!

See you on the leader board!

I have no idea how my game is going to compare with others. It's early 1800's, and I'm leading the tech race, but I feel so far behind where I like to be by now. I've got Mike's chapel, and will soon have colussus, Cop's observatory, and Newton's college in my science city. The past several centuries I feel like I've been idling in neutral, however. I've had a hard time expanding, or building anything. Explorations are going slowly, too. I'm doing well against the other civs, just don't know how I'll fare against everyone here

Still, been a good experience and I'm still learning. I'm getting a little concerned about finishing this one by the end of the month, too.

Well I just finished my game in the mid 1700 by sending a space ship to AC. At that time there where only two other Civs left, the Russian and Vikings and they were at war with each other!!

But I finished with a score of about 181!

181... Is that a Civ score or have you calculated the new exponential GOTM score?

Looks like the Shadow will reign supreme again

Damn, SS in 1700's in Deity? Well, it is my first Deity game, so I suppose I could improve. I'm beginning to wonder if I can even get a SS built and launched by 2020 <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/frown.gif" border=0>

My goal was to survive at first, but later, when it started to go well, I wanted to at least kill one civ. I did that; I killed the English. After that, I just wanted to get as many points as possible. From the beginning, I made sure that I had the most important wonders, almost all the time by deleting the troops stationed inside the city and by caravans. This was pretty risky; I lost a few wonder cities to the barbarians and English, but I conquered them back.

Wah, I always play King, This is my first Deity game I've been Playing Civ for at least 4 years and this is hard, Yet fun... It's the year 450 BC, I have no contact with others, I have no wonders, 2 have been built, my biggest city is 3 and barbarians are my worst fear... Woo Hoo!

Finished by arriving in AC with a full ship in 1962. Not brilliant, but I expect to move up from GOTM III's 10th place at least. I think I could have made it into the top-15 on the Deity HOF if I'd continued...
