Game of Thrones / ASOIAF Mod (v 0.1)

hI;

tried the mod but only got the normal cIV leaderheads, like de Gaul, Ghandi, o. e. ... I followed your instructions strictly, and I have mod experience, so I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe make an installer for the next patch/release, would make things easier when you automatically put the stuff where it belongs. Here is a link:

The K-mod has improved it as well. There are many mods that could be used as a base for this mod's gameplay (FFH , K-mod, better AI etc...) if TheBeast returns and/or someone with moding skills takes up where he left it.

Alas my time is taken up with the B5 mod and much as I love ASOFAI I am not skilled enough to do everything this would need.

Love this scenario. Only one thing that bugs me is the 200 turn limit. Is it possible to turn that off?

And is it possible to siege Storms End when it has 150% defense? I'm playing as Stannis and I'm trying to follow his path from the books where he takes Renly out first and then marches on KL. 100 turns in and I've taken 5 castles, but Renly has made himself a vassal state of the Dorne and I'm still at war with Tywin. So I'm getting smashed from every side . If I would've been able to take Storm's End when I wanted to this would have been fine haha.

I quote myself here... can someone tell me if I maybe have done sth wrong with the installation? Does it interefere with other mods, such as BUG? I have vanilla civ leaderheads in my game, gandhi, de gaulle, washington, etc.

This mod is only in its early days, and the leaderheads are the vanilla ones. Even the traits seem to be half-random (Stannis is charismatic and Greyjoy is financial/creative). So no you haven't done anything wrong with the installation, the mod is just... not polished in any way.

ah, ok, sry, got this mixed up because of some screenshots showing iirc some orig. ones. Keep the good work up, it is great stuff!!! Thanks for the efforts so far, I will definitly follow you :goodjob:

So I found this thread almost a year after the last post. I tried to download the mod, but apparently it is not available anymore! :(
Can anyone upload it again?

I don't think I have it any more sorry. It was stopped in a very early stage so it wasn't much better than the BTS scenario that TheBeast made as well.
I recommend you try and find that, even though you'll probably be disappointed : the Civ engine is not really good at representing the world of aSoIaF, so I'd recommend you play the Crusader Kings 2 mod (great for the intrigue part of westeros) or the (in development, probably released this year but early versions are available) Medieval 2 Total War mod (great for the strategic/tactical part of westeros).

The mod died when TheBeast left, unfortunately, so no.

Hi, am having great difficulty getting this to work with Steam. I changed the address of the shortcut to where steam stores Civ4 on my computer ie. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword

unfortunately, it then informs me that A game of thrones is not a valid mod and skips over the poor mod. Any advice on how to circumvent this pigheaded steam attitude?

You mean besides shooting Steam in the hard drive :mischief:? If I remember correctly from helping my son with some of his mods (he has steam, not sure he is my kid.. JK), if you extract the mod to your desk top, and then click drag it directly into your mods folder, it should work. Been awhile since I've done that, but it's worth a shot.

GAMES OF THRONES MOD (v 0.1)

Installation Instructions:

-Extract .rar file and place the folder 'Game of Thrones' in location: Sid Meier's Civilization 4 > Beyond the Sword > Mods

-Place the "Clash of Kings Scenario.worldbuildersave" file in your Beyond the Sword>Saves>World Builder Saves folder.

-Go back to the Game of Thrones folder (should now be in the "Mods" folder under "Beyond the Sword"). Open the shortcut provided (labeled "Game of Thrones"). Give it a moment to load. Be patient.

-To play the scenario, go to: Single Player > Play Scenario and select the Clash of Kings Scenario. That should do it! Let me know in this forum if you have any problems with installation.

Hello _ I'm new to this website and these forums, so please bear with me if I'm being stupid, but _

I downloaded the RAR for Game Of Thrones ages ago, I've only just extracted and tried it. It acts as if it's loading the mod OK, but when I get in there, there's nothing other than the normal Civ4 BTS options _ apart from the "Game Of Thrones" caption in the corner of the screen. No Westeros map, no Game Of Thrones leaders or features, nothing.

From checking the Beast's original post, I see there's supposed to be a Clash of Kings Scenario.worldbuildersave file _ there isn't. A shortcut was also mentioned, which also doesn't exist. Also a Westeros map, which doesn't exist _ though I could live with playing on standard BtS maps if the mod worked otherwise.

I placed the folder 'Game of Thrones' correctly _ so the game is picking up the fact that there's a Mod: it's just that the Mod then does nothing. It would help if there had been a Readme file.

Apologies if I'm blundering into issues which have been gone over and over (I read some of the first and last posts, but not all). It's just disappointing.

Merci beaucoup, AdrienIer!! (Just noticed your location.) I'll let you all know how I get on. Thanks.
