Hey all. im a complete doofus when it comes to downloading and updating things. I'm eeasily overwhelmed by such things. Can someone tell me, is version 4.0 a completely new version to download, or is it a patch/update for the one I already have been playing?

I'm not even sure i've been playing the correct one. 0.34 is the one on my desktop. I see so many versions and patches that im rather lost.

Any help would be appreciated.

Game Ranger is an online client for hooking up online games. They support over 500 different games and provide a fee client that lets you see what games are out and available to join or to host your own games.

I may have been the only one to notice, but that is a heck of a typo if I'm right. I imagine you meant free?

Yeap, this is how I see it too. We are just coming out of the beta. Its a little sad in that it means we are pretty much feature locked. But it means that we can focus on the things that a feature lock requires (AI and documentation.

I see it as we are coming out of the alpha and into the beta. Once the beta has been patched up we have the gold version.

Utterly the wrong thread for that, this. It'll be a complete new version, as ever with major versions. Should be the last time you need to download everything though (except the media pack I guess).

Yeah, realised it was the wrong thread. Still, it gave you chance to make your 2000th post and it gave me the chance to see what Dr Zoidberg would look like with Jesus' hair. Thanks

Ah, gameranger. A classic of the Mac Gaming community for years, I remember playing Ghost Recon on it ALL the freaking time in college.

Glad to see they support PCs and FFH2 now

That was actually in a futurama episode were bender became a "Good" (See, slightly less evil) santa claus, but then was captured and put to death. Then everyone that works at planet express comes in to the exictuion room at the last second dressed as jesus, and then Zoidburg comes in and says
"And I am santa's good friend jesus!"

But thats off topic.
