Well Elkad seemed like a good choice to me if we couldn't find anyone from here quickly... Joshua, have you asked him yet? Or shall I?
(Plus Elucidus will probably be happy, because Elkad may well end up being my enemy due to me destroying his civ in another game a couple of days ago.

I haven't asked him yet. We've already sent PMs to Saturn members here, we should give them at least a day or two to reply first before bringing in someone from elsewhere.
You can tell him of the opening though, see if he's interested if no one shows up by thursday or whenever.

No! No more drama, quite the opposite. I just don't want to hear about it anymore. If everyone can't drop it I will leave, you guys have fun. It's really that simple.
It's not about taking things too seriously, either. It's not fun when people make fun of your spouse, especially when she didn't do a thing wrong. I am not going to get put on the defensive anymore, because I won't play.
I made my feelings clear on this. If you can't show me enough respect, no, not even that, enough common decency to drop it (as it is evident it bothers me) then I will leave. Again really simple. I am not hurting you by leaving, I'm not taking the game away or preventing you from continuing the game when I am gone.
The game and everything about it is supposed to be fun, this isn't fun.
People can't swallow their pride and apologize that is fine (excluding those who did), but to continue to make comments is just plain stupid, maybe the level of maturity that this game used to carry with it just isn't there anymore. There is a reason I don't play First Person Shooters online, I don't like kids yelling insults my way constantly. Same can be said for a lot of online games these days, I didn't think civ was like that. Maybe I have been stuck in my own little hole over at strategamer where we all pretty much respect each other enough not to do that. Maybe that is part of the reason it is a small little community.
This isn't aimed at everyone, and a lot of you were kind and respectful. Some of you...Joshua particularly, it took a little while to get to know his sense of humor and that is fine too. I see it now and he is funny...sometimes. Others, I am not interested in playing with. Again, very simple to understand.

So can you clarify - does this mean you'll be continuing to host and playing on as long as people drop it about past issues (which, really, should be easy enough for us to do)?
If you've decided to leave, that's fine. It'd be a shame to have such a reliable host abandon us though.

Elkad is interested in the game, so even if we don't hear back from anyone else, we definitely have a player to take over Amethyst's spot. I've informed him about the rules (no rushing the newbies before turn 100, fairly open discussions in the forums).

If i still need i would probably have sub for Amethys, he is newby to Civ (3 games played) , but he is online all the time as me
Aren't you on the same continent? Pretty sure subbing people on the same continent is generally discouraged. Elkad taking over permamently is fine though, it sounds like that is going to work out and be very interesting.
You might be able to temperarily take over for Elucidus if he bails, hard to tell exactly when and how this thing is going to start up again.

Lord said Elkad was interested. We haven't heard from anyone else so far so I guess you should doublecheck with him. (I have no idea what time he's usually around.)
