Personally I think a combination of EU3 and M:TW2/E:TW would be awesome.

Do you have any ideas for a game that nobody has made yet?

I'd like to see a more up to date game in a similar vein to Elite 2 which sucks me in like that game did. I've tried games like X3 but it just doesn't feel the same.

Or a game combining the action section of R:TW with the playability of Civ 3

I've never played Elite however I did play a game called Hardwar ages ago which is in a similar mould and was a lot of fun. I haven't played it recently so the graphics are probably looking very dated now.

On the Total War + nation strategy game I think there would a number of problems trying to fit in the part of playing battles. In the later Total War games you need to control every battle which time wise would exclude a lot of people as an average game of Civ already takes a lot of time. There is also the risk that one part of the game would have too much impact, either playing battles makes wars too easy or nation tech / resources may be the controlling factor and make the battles pointless.

A game like Phoenix Wright but more serious, believable and complex. Preferably more based on investigation than trial; like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, maybe.

oh yeah I know it would be hard to pull off. Perhaps allowing control of larger battles only or something to that effect would be the way to go but yeah as you said it offers a headache around certain game aspects.

Yeah, a Grand Campaign would take 5+ years of gameplay in real time...:crazyeye:

Or maybe a mode where you could only manually (TW way) play a battle your monarch personally leads?
That might be sweet...

Call of Duty meets Battlefield, large scale battles with vehicles.

(possibly WW2, but modern is also cool)

Or.....

Be a general at the head of an army you can control Total war Style, but still be able to kick ass as an ingame character (battlefront style) the strategy part could be that you like with borthers in arms have a button which lets you zoom out and make your tactical decisions on the map!

Battlefield with one-game player count an order of magnitude higher than MAG's.

Oblivion/Fallout 3 type RPG combined with The Secret World (an upcoming MMORPG) type setting. (Dark fantasy in the real world)

I would like to see the time control aspects of Braid brought into more game genres.

Moar Fallout series. And Metroid Prime series ported to the PC.

Warhammer online that kept all the good bits from DAoC... which, alas, it didn't.

a space 4x(such as MOO2) that allows you to control the land battles.
