Games won't start

Im having a problem playing this game. I played it earlier and it ran fine, but now when I click on the icon nothing happens, my computer makes a loading sound for a second and then nothing, the game doesnt start and i get no error message. I have the latest patch and the disk is in. No matter how i try to start it nothing happens:
M specs are:
512mb ram
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Radeon 9600 Pro
Please help

I had something like that, we got our computer free of spyware and the like and it started working again
