Gamespeed

Earlier today I started my third "standard"-speed game, AND just like two others, I won't finish it. It is just way too slow. After the start just always just find myself clicking next turn button rapidly to make some progress.

Does anyone EVER play on epic or marathon really?
That must be so boring!

Maybe in the next patch they will release new "super quick" gamespeed, or so I hope.


From now on I won't try "standard" anymore, learnt my lesson and try to stay in "quick" games.

im the same, im waiting over a minute once past turn 280. its frustrating and annoying and im yet to finish a game.
its probably my computer, its ok but its just not fast enough and both processors are running at 100% capacity.

Epic and marathon aren't bad for domination, since it basically means the AI just has less time to build units or research techs while you conquer them.

Units become obsolete way too quick on standard. A long march across the map and 2 generations of military technology may pass before you even get to war. This has ALWAYS been a problem in Civ and that is why they introduced Marathon. Lets you actually have a war with current technology rather than the defender upgrading twice while you are marching over...

Sure, it is a bit slow at the beginning but much more satisfying way to play. You do know you can save your game and continue another day if you don't finish right

Actually i never play anything but marathon. However, i would like a slower game speed.

It's just annoying that the balancing in this game does not work at all.

You're overreacting a little. Never happened to me that I send army and they become obsolete on their way to enemy. But, about topic, I'm playing on epic and it isn't boring. I'm a calm fella who likes to enjoy in game and I don't know mechanics of civ 5 and that is what is bothering me momentally, not some game speeds, who care for it" I want War academy!
