I heard this was initially limited to streaming physical copies of purchased games from a remote Xbox or PS3, and not creating a Steam-like purchasing environment where you buy games and download them to your PC.

If I was a CEO of any retail game company I would be hot to trot on a Steam like purchasing environment (and would probably not really bother with the streaming thing they seem to be pursuing, which seems gimmicky.) I think Steam is the future.

I already posted a thread about this in All Other Games. For now thankfully no changes have been planned and afaik all original Impulse staff still have their jobs, but I have heard enoguh bad things about Gamestop corproate to be concerned about the future of Impulse. Good thing I only have two games on there.
