Gandhi, you jerk!

Caste system/pacifism would work well once we have our GP farm set up, it hasn't finished its 1st workboat yet. For free speech vs bureaucracy, I don't think we have enough towns yet.

Looks like privateers pretty soon. That should be fun. And free market would be very nice for the economy.

Skip me, don't havbe enogh time to play. sorry about my trouble. Actually if it's ok with you guys, i'd like to move down the Roster, so that iu can hit the weekends as i'd have a better chance of playing it then.

First privateers are ready.
Spread Buddhism to Sumeria, another missionary is in England, another one in a caravel.
New city founded, we can make this land our 1st colony.
Ghandi_27.JPG

We got a quest. Do we want to make it? I hold back researching Economics which obsoletes Castles.

We have a competition here (Burgundian captured next turn)

The save

i say do the quest, i've done it before, it has a nice result. and most cities just need 3 or so turns. (1 for walls, 2 for castles) so it's not to much of an overkill.

Yes I really like castles in BTS. +50% to espionage spending IIRC and the extra trade route is very valuable now. With a harbor and customs house I often get 8+ gold per turn.

@ Negy: Please share with us what mod gives you those log entries.

Turn 0: Sury will trade Stone for Marble and Banana. But Taj Mahal can be built in 2 turns w/ Nationalism. Decide to keep the marble and build the
castles a little slower but get Taj quicker.
Will start Walls when every coastal city finishes a privateer.
Galley off the coast of Madras looks suspicious, could have a settling party.

Turn 1: Madras finishes Privateer and sinks Galley. But Galley lands a settling party.

Civ4ScreenShot0007.jpg

Source of Copper discovered near Madras
Privateer in Pataliputra finished, sinks Hammurabi's galley off our coast

AI with our religion:
Hammurabi
Gilgamesh
Suryavarman

Without:
Hatty
Sitting Bull
Elizabeth (missionary in territory)

Sent spy to Elizabeth to steal some techs, increased EP to Elizabeth

Spy in Zimbir spreads culture though nothing seems to happen, it says he completed mission and returned to capital. Not sure what this did, was hoping it would increase our culture there but the % didn't seem to change

Turn 2: Nationalism in, research Constitution for Mausoleums. Jails giving happiness seems very jerk-like.
Taj Mahal started in Delhi
Gilgamesh founds a city right where settling party lands
GS builds academy in Delhi

Turn 3: CR3 Maceman takes Chinook singlehandedly

Turn 5: Constitution in, Research Drama for theatres to help spread culture in our colony cities. Don't change to Rep as it's more money and we're not running a lot of specialists.

Turn 6: Buddhism spreds to Elizabeth (Coventry)

Turn 7: Buddhism spreads to Hatty (Elephantine)
Pillaged all of Elizabeth's clam tiles but she's at 0gpt and has nothing to trade

Turn 8: More piracy on the high seas
Settling party of Settler, Maceman, Worker leaves our mainland

Turn 9: Hammurabi wants us to end trade with Surya, Surya's pleased, Hammur's cautious, I decline
Buddhism spreads to Sitting Bull (Chaco Canyon)

Turn 10: More high piracy, it looks like there's a lot of ships trying to colonize this set of islands

gandhi-piracy0000.jpg

Privateer Tally: Mostly concentrated on pillaging and sinking AI ships
Research: Democracy due next turn, you can research Economics next
Castle quest: 7th castle due in 2 turns
Civics: I changed to Caste System to hire some artists in our colony cities for border pops, you can change in 2 more turns.
Golden Age next turn when Taj Mahal completes.
All AI have Buddhism which should enable diplomatic victory vote

We have 312 votes, 331 needed for diplo victory. Gilga won't vote for us 'cos he is the only other full member -> will be our opponent (I think).
We need to expand if we want to make it. Other way: we can blockade Gilga's cities -> will starve -> have less votes > less will be needed for victory :satan:

After Democracy I think we should go on to Economics and Corporations. We can found Sid's sushi with Medicine. We'll probably have a chance to found others also so that is my plan for the next few great people.

I was thinking of splitting off some colonies after I spread Buddhism to them. Those cultural buildings will be lost when we hand them over right? So the sooner we free them the better I think.

I also want to upgrade out units just to make sure no AIs try some amphibious suprise attack.

Side note: Trying to open the log causes a crash to desktop.

First off I sold Drama to Khmer, Egypt, and Babylon to clean out their banks. Sitting Bull, Elizabeth and Gilgamesh gave me everything they had for our maps. Renewed our resource deals to make sure I’m squeezing everyone as hard as we can. Use the cash to upgrade 3 archers and 2 caravels.

1555
Finish Taj, start Statue of Liberty and a Golden Age.
Finish the Castle quest. The rewards are to promote all melee units with city garrison or +3 attitude bonus with all leaders (that’s what I choose). If we had Great Wall we could also have chosen a +25 espionage points from that wonder.
AP vote for Diplomatic victory.
Great spy is born, he joins Delhi.
Khmer and Egypt declare war on Egypt.
Start Economics.

1560
Fail Diplomatic victory with only 330 of 337.
Khmer capture Coventry in an amphibious assault. (Our privateers then move in to sink the entire fleet and blockade the city.)

1565
Finish Economics, save free Merchant to found a corporation later.
Start Hermitage in Bangalore.
WLTKD in Hyderabad
Switch civics to Universal suffrage/free speech/emancipation/free market. I keep Organized Religion for now because it makes Khmer and Egypt like us and I’m not sure if free religion forces us out of the AP.

1570
Heroic Epic built in Pataliputra, but we look pretty good so I start a grocer.

1575
Egypt offers Music for Paper. It’s actually a reasonable offer as both techs are the same price so I don’t mind accepting.
Rush Hermitage in Bangalore.

1580
WLTKD in Delhi

1585
WLTKD in Vijay
Our pirate fleet has sunk enough ships to earn us a Great General. I settle him in Pataliputra as an instructor so our new ships can start with some XP.

1590
Finish Corporations start Scientific Method. (Remember this will obsolete Great Library, Parthenon and monasteries.)
Khmer demands we cancel deals with England. Sadly we must accept.
England asks us to declare war on Khmer. “Ya, right.”
Build a fort just outside Madras to open a southern canal.

1595
Khmer asks us to declare war on England, but no can do.
Spy fails to destroy Library in Zimbir. No biggy, Bangalore has a boarder expansion in 6 turns.
Event: Deer hunters in Lahore get a bunch so we get 8 extra food.

1600
We kick ass, check out those demographics.

I’ve marked some locations where we may want to establish colonies. In preparation for corporations we should snatch up all the spare resources we can.

Nice, Khmer voted for us :)
We should keep gifting him something every once in a while. Hopefully we can keep him happy.

We have 316 points, we can win if we get the sids sushi corp.

My plan is to spread it to most of our cities, and to alot of khmer cities, kmere and us will have so much pop, that if only the khmer and us vote for ghandi we'll win.

Try not to spread it to cities without our state reliigon however. (same with the khmer, only spread it to our khmer/hindu cities.)

Is it crab, fish and rice for Sid's? We can get some pretty wild growth if we snatch all the extra resources lying around. Might not want to release all our colonies either then (although making a vassel will give us some happiness).

Oh i'm up.... Yah i'll get to it. I'm loaded with homework, and i hope to be able to play in 3-4 hours hopefully.
