Hi! It's me again. I'm making a Gang Scenario in which 7 players take part in gang warface on the island of Manhatten Island. One player will be the Police, 3 players will be local street gangs and the last 3 players will be international Mafia gangs. I'm thinking that the local street gangs would have the ability to make a lot of units but with lower quality, the multinational mafia gangs have higher quality units but expensive to build. The Police will have a slight advantage 'cause they'll have units that they can produce cheaply and would rivel the multinational mafia gangs.
Now here's the problem. I don't know the names of any New York gang, so I'm asking all of you out there to help me out! I'd like the names and general location on Manhatten island of 3 big or little rag tag street gangs and the names of 3 big or little professional mafia gangster gangs. (Gang leader names optional.) The time frame for this scenario would be based in present day and I might even put landmarks in the game like the Lincoln Center and the Empire State building. The idea of this scenario will be based around the Roman Riots scenario by St. Leo which can be found in the CIV2 Ancient download section of CivFanatics. Building units will be airborne to prevent buildings being utterly destroyed in the battle. Hope to hear some ideas soon!
Oh yeah! One more thing. Helping me with coming up with a name for the scenario would help greatly too. :) Bye now!

Ah! Screw this! I've got nothing left to give to his scenario idea! I'll just attach the graphics and rules zip with this thread and maybe y'all can borrow graphics from it. :D There's a road terrain graphic that replaces the mountain and it's pretty good. Just look at the screenshot up above! I think for my next project I'll do a scenario based on the D'ni civilization in Myst and do appropriate tech's and units. OH yeah! I'm also working on a Civ 3 modpack for Civ 2 so yeah. Unit pictures are shabby but get the idea across.

You should make this, it'd be cool. A name? How about

"Steel Island"?

No, leonel, that was one of the best scenario ideas I heard for a long time. It's innovative, and yet suitable. Looks good. Don't leave it! :goodjob:

Perhaps the scenario would be better of situated during the Prohibition. There are plenty of groups to choose from, and the fight would be better. It could be called "Manhattan Undercover", "Manhattan Underworld", or something.

I mean I already made the scenario with barbarian flying units as the buildings so as to make it that ground units can't attack the air units, but I could attack them anyway! And I did all these things with the technology setting and the making sure the cities were fixed. *sobsniff!* ;_; I don't think I can work on this scenario for along time before I can get back the will to try again. Besides, I'm almost done with this Civ3 Modpack for Civ2. Unit pictures are shabby but yeah. I'll even include a preview pict. Perhaps post it on the forum.

Waaarriors come out and plaaaayyayyyy...... Waaarrrioors come out and Pellllllaaaaayyyayyyyayyy.

Thanks techumseh. If you're talking about the SimCity2000 graphics, it helps having SCURK. If you're talking about the SimCity3000 graphics, I just got some screenshots of the game and painstakingly trimmed the buildings out. Tough work it is to work from a screenshot with other crap around it. I might even restart work on the scenario, but I'm already working on several other Civ2 projects. Civ3 Modpack, A Flat Earth scenario, (if a ship were to go to the edge, they die) and a post apocalyptic scenario that's like St Leo's America thing where players conquor anarchal cities to grow their empire.

Oh man! I always wanted to do that!
Actually, I even began making a map full of tiny islands to represent Ages... but then decided it would work better if they were created during the game. The Descriptive Books could be represented by civilization advances, and the first time a Civ. completes one it triggers a series of CHANGETERRAIN events to create the new Age. The only way to travel between Ages would be with an airport (linking annex) or paradroppable units (like Writers).
The only problem with the D'ni in a Civ2 world is that they weren't very warlike. Maybe you could use five factions to represent five rival Writers seeking to expand their empires... something like that. A lot of possibilities - I'm sure it will be Very Cool. :cooool:

Actually, I'm gonna have the cavern and the tunnels the D'ni used and on the "surface" (which is just another part of the map that isn't like the "underground" terrains with a movement cost of like 5) are 3 Civ's supposed to represent the outside world; Oriental, European and Islamic civilizations. And the tunnels will be just roads in the movement 4 terrain. So yeah. I haven't come up with a list of technologies yet but the idea of the Books as advances is a neat idea too. Perhaps techniques in writing or Age Printing Press?

Oh yeah, and according to Atrus in one of the books, the islands DO exist, they just need someone to write a book about it to link to it. :D

Have you read all three Myst books?

I have and can firmly attest that the D'Ni had a VERY warlike situation about them. Especially during the civil war that erupted over Ti'ana, Atrus' mother.

The best path for a D'Ni scenario would be for a completely underground map set during the civil war with the different Guilds (Guild of Miners, Guild of Writers, etc.) fighting eachother for dominance, IMHO.

Anyhoo, I wanna see your Cold War scenario and this one finished before you try and do a D'Ni scenario. ;)
