Look at it on the bright side. Those barbs will give you plenty Xp as soon as you get the Axes going. Btw, what about using fast workers as bait? Fast workers run fast and barb might be confused :crazyeye:

    Turnset 16 (T145 to T150)

T145 - The stupid Spear pillaged the 9:food: rice instead of attacking Pataliputra again.
I can wait 1 more turn and see if he attacks the city again, but he might just keep pillaging. :hmm:
I'll move another Warrior 2N of Pata and see if I can't bait again.

Also, another Spear has appeared to threaten my core empire!
It is close to menacing Samarkand, Invincible City, my Silver mine, and Samarkand's only food tile (sheep pasture).
I can't attack it if it moves into the forest since it will be too strong.
And if it makes it into the forest, it won't have any trouble pillaging silver, pillaging sheep, or attacking Samarkand.
    Arggggg!
    Spoiler :

T146 - The bait Warrior 2N of India's former capital Pataliputra worked as hoped. :)
It won a battle with the barb Spear at 21.7% odds and India is safe for now.

    Fury Road is complete! :D
I want to extend it 1 more tile onto the bronze starting next turn to help settle the spot even faster.
However, the barb Spear in the homeland is threatening to pillage some important tiles, so I might have to recall the workers along with their 3 defenders.

I'll try to block the Spear by occupying the sheep and silver tiles with Warriors.
    Spoiler :

T147 - Emergency Bronze Settler produced in Lahore!
Need 7 or 8 turns to walk it up north to claim the bronze.

The stupid barb Spear killed my Warrior who had a 1.3% chance to win AND pillaged my silver mine at the same time.
I forgot it could do that. :cringe:
The loss of 1 happiness across my empire and the silver mine itself has instantly plunged me into a financial crisis of nearly -40:gold: per turn.

My Chariot won the follow up 68.1% battle wiping out the Spear.
It will take my 5 workers three turns to redo the silver mine.
    Spoiler :

T148 - Due to the financial crisis and the lack of barb threats in India, I deleted the Warrior in Dhaka and Pataliputra to save :gold:.
An injured barb Warrior pestering Varanasi was crushed by my Chariot in a 100% fight.

T149 - It just never ends!
2 MORE SPEARS are now threatening my main empire.
One from the west for Tashkent, and one in the northeast for Kashgar.

Thank goodness I didn't go 1 more tile for Fury road and recalled the worker protection force.
The 2 Chariots in Kashgar will give me the 1 extra turn I need to whip two Warriors.

Cyrus is beginning to settle southwest of India/Mughal, so that should help keep barbs from swarming India hopefully.
    Spoiler :

T150 (2000BC) - Tashkent and Invincible City both threatened by a Spear now.
Will play defense and hope it weakens itself attacking a city.
For the 4th or 5th time the Wheat is being threatened by a Warrior, so I killed it it with Chariot in a 100% fight.

One of my two Chariots guarding Kashgar got crushed by a Spear in a 3.9% fight and did very little damage.
Kashgar is now in very serious trouble with 2 more barb Warriors appearing.

Down south, Cyrus has a 2nd city nearby.

Also, my exploration Chariot has discovered a barb city named Hittite guarded by 1 Warrior. :)
    Will try to capture it.
    Spoiler :

I dont know why you keep producing Chariots :dunno:.

With all this bonuses warriors should be fine agaisnt spears at least in cities. You have +100% in hilled city and +75% in others. Thats a lot better odds then Chariots.

Allrigh barbs will pillage lots of stuff but its still better then loose game vs barbs .

Some of it is so I can have a Chariot and a Warrior to build in 1 turn if needed in cities, and another is that Chariots still crush barb Warriors.
However, you do have a point Yyeah. :D

Expect to see more cheap Warriors built, and if things get truly awful a huge pile of Warriors as the tile pillaging is no longer resisted.

When i was on -:commerce: and couldnt grow, couldnt expand, i was just bulding workers and delete them befor and a bit after Pottery to keep cities stagnant until i bulid enough cottages .

Beocouse you have enough workers, you can just keep cities stagnant work mines and throw swarm of warriors on this barb spears. A lot of them die but who cares you cant aford on them anyway. At least this keeps up your improovments. Until you get copper up.

Btw i got maybe not similar situation but this early spears shown up and i had only warrior defending my city. My warrior won battle agains this ealry spear while defending city, barb attacked across the river.
And i was like what the .... didnt knew that we have +25% bonus against barbs :goodjob:

    I can't wait for axes. :)
It's weird when I capture Fast Workers 3:move:, they become regular Workers 2:move:.
    Not sure why. :dunno:
I only use Worker for bait in very dire circumstances. I'll keep it in mind.

Warrior swarm sounds like a good idea.
In fact, it will be my main way of generating :gold: I predict.
Once I get a Warrior to 21/22:hammers:, I can whip it and get 67:gold: and enough hammers to make a 2nd Warrior.
I'll try to do this in all 9 cities every 20 turns if needed and delete the Warrior if it isn't useful.
Maybe put the overflow :hammers: into a Granary? hmm

The action is getting out of hand, so I'll put the barbarian attack results first since it dictates the rest of the turn so much.

    Turnset 17 (T151 to T153)

    T151 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending Invincible City lost to Spear with 3.2% chance to win.
Warrior defending Kashgar lost to Spear with 10.6% chance to win.
    ==============================

Kashgar is now surrounded by 6 barbs
, 2 of which are Spears.
My Warrior did virtually no damage to the Spear, so I'm afraid Kashgar is lost.
    Spoiler :

My Chariot won the 99.2% fight with the Warrior, but those 2 Spears will certainly take the city.
The 0% defenses cultural borders are hurting badly right now, and I have no more forces to send up there to die.

Back at the capital, I attacked the weakened barb Spear.
Shock Warrior lost to the spear with 49% odds.
Chariot won the followup fight at 81% odds.
    Spoiler :

Elsewhere in the empire, I received the notification that Qin is the #1 most powerful civ and I am #2. :)

    Some more good news.
    Silver is back online!

Also, I've captured the barb city Hittite down south for 115:gold:
My Shock Chariot easily won the 90.1% fight against the defending Warrior.
I razed the city because it was too far away, too expensive to keep, and I had no Workers available to improve it.
    Spoiler :

Between the barb city capture gold, whipped Warrior overflow :gold:, and getting silver back, the financial crisis has receded a bit. :D
I can now fight for a fair amount of turns without my army STRIKING and disbanding a few units every turn.

    **Edit**
    Gah!
I thought I faced 3 barb Spears, but it is actually 5 now!
    Spoiler :

I tried to get behind the north most injured barb Spear to attack without crossing a river (+25% to defending unit if on other side of river), and I found 2 more Spears!
Facing certain death, I had the Chariot attack the injured barb Spear 1S.
My Chariot lost to the Spear at 39.6% odds :(
    Spoiler :

I cannot afford to lose 5 units every turn...

Even worse, my Settler cannot travel Fury Road without dying.
There is no way for me to get to bronze now, it is too dangerous and I have no forces to send for protection.
Will divert the Settler to resettle Bactra and get me Gold again.
I'll have to build a 2nd Settler and try for bronze again later.
    Spoiler :

    T152 - Barbarians Attack
Warrior defending Kashgar lost to Spear at 37.4% odds to win.
    ==============================

The situation is now getting out of hand!
5 more barb Warriors showed up and the rest all moved southwest.
So 10 barbs surround Kashgar (2 are Spears), and 6 barbs are invading the heart of my empire (3 are Spears).

My Chariot won the fight against a Warrior near Invincible City at 99.1% odds.
My Chariot defending Kashgar will retreat south since the city is a lost cause.
    Spoiler :

One bright spot is that my capital reached 150:culture: and popped borders, so Invincible City now provides a hefty +40% defensive bonus for Warriors.

    T153 - Barbarians Attack
    Kashgar captured by Barbarians!
I am down to 8 cities now.
    2 Farms pillaged
Warrior defending Invincible City won against Spear at 86.1% odds.
Chariot defending Invincible City won against Warrior at 96.8% odds.
Chariot in forest northeast of Samarkand lost against Spear at 19.8% odds.
    ==============================

India is organized to protect itself now, so I'm calling up every unit I can spare to help defend the north.
    They should arrive around T156 - T159.

Bactra 2 was founded in the old spot and immediately brought Gold back to my empire and helped out financially working the gold mine. :D
I then used its defender Chariot to try and kill that pesky Spear east of Samarkand causing me so much trouble.
My Chariot withdrew from the Spear at 75.3% odds (lucky)
Keep in mind when attacking from 2 tiles away that Civ 4 doesn't factor in the attacking across river penalty (it shows 88% odds in screenshot when in reality it is 75% odds since defender gets +25%)
    Spoiler :

The 5 Warriors and 2 Spears around Kashgar can no longer be seen, but they are up there.
Here's my current empire at the end of turn 153:
    Spoiler :

Have you thought about archers? In such a huge map, barbarians are the major issue early on. Or copper is more important than you have thought due to those spears.

Is there any 1 movement unit in this mod? If not, then mounted units are greatly nerfed.

I've thought about Archers, but the crazy :science: costs for techs make that impossible right now.
I just don't have enough :gold: to tech Hunting (468:science:) and Archery (702:science:) unless I disband my army, and if I do that the barbs will take everything.
    Spoiler :

Either I get Bronze, or my first few cities melt under the barbarian blowtorch as they pillage everything and I go bankrupt working crappy tiles and paying huge :gold: to maintain Warriors in my cities.

    There are no 1:move: units.
Workers and Settlers are still 2:move:
All the rest of the 1:move: units are now 2:move:
All the rest of the 2:move: units are now 3:move:

The insane unit maintenance costs and high unit :move: make pillaging much more important than regular BTS.

Mounted units don't feel nerfed to me, but you are right that they only move 50% more than axe/spear/sword/war_elephants now instead of 100%.

    Indeed, indeed! :ar15:

    Turnset 18 (T154 to T155)

    T154 - Barbarians Attack
Warrior defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 98.2% odds.
Vision Chariot guarding east of India lost to Spear that came out of nowhere. (3.2% odds)
(I should have been using the 3:move: Chariot to check for that kind of surprise attack :hammer2:)
    Spoiler :

Also, the road 1SW of my Horse tile got pillaged.
    ==============================

After only a single turn, Bactra 2 once again faces annihilation. :cringe:
I thought finishing off the Spear east of Samarkand would help keep that city from falling, but it backfired as my Chariot doesn't have even a single turn to heal.
    It will be close.
    Spoiler :

Samarkand is also facing capture as 5 barbarian Warriors come down the road from Kashgar to join the 0.8hp Spear on the Horse tile.
They can use that road to attack next turn!
All I have to defend Samarkand is 2 Warriors.
    Spoiler :

There is only one way to save Samarkand. :hmm:
Don't reinforce Bactra 2 with a Samarkand Warrior.
Let it live or die by itself.
Go on the offensive and bring in reinforcements from Invincible City!

Warrior from Samarkand won against the 0.2hp Spear at 100% odds.
Chariot from Invincible City won against the Warrior on Silver tile at 96.5% odds.
Chariot from Invincible City won against the Warrior to the north at 99.1% odds.
Then I pulled 2 Warriors from Invincible City and put them all on the Silver tile to keep that Spear from pillaging it.
    Spoiler :

Finally, I took the uninjured Warrior from Samarkand and pillaged the road in front of the 5 Warrior barb stack! :D
A suicide mission, but it is the only way to delay the barbs 1 turn and possibly save Samarkand.
    Spoiler :

Here is a picture of Tashkent (just produced a Settler for bronze) and the 4 reinforcements coming up from the south. (2 Chariots + 2 Warriors)
    Spoiler :

    T155 - Barbarians Attack
Warrior defending Bactra 2 lost against Spear at 29.7% odds.
Warrior defending Silver tile lost against Spear at 1.3% odds.
Chariot defending Invincible City won against Warrior at 97.3% odds.
Chariot defending Invincible City won against Warrior at 97.3% odds.
Warrior defending pillaged road won against injured Warrior at 96.5% odds.
Warrior defending pillaged road lost against Warrior at 50% odds.
    ==============================

Bactra 2 is now defended by only an injured Chariot, and it is facing a barb Spear with only 1.1hp.
If I do nothing, the Spear will promote + heal and wipe out Bactra for sure.
Time to roll the dice and attack!
If I win Bactra is saved and if I die Bactra is lost. :please:
    Spoiler :

    **Edit**
My Bactra Chariot lost against the Spear at 50.45% odds.
    Bactra is lost.
    Spoiler :

Elsewhere, my Chariot won against a Warrior threatening Samarkand at 99% odds.
This Chariot along with the Warrior and Chariot on Silver tile moved into Samarkand to help defend.
*Note that the barbs have yet another Spear + 2 Warriors coming down the road from Kashgar.

Another of my Chariots won against a Warrior near Tashkent at 99.4% odds.
    Spoiler :

Down south, a Spear arrived to threaten Lahore.
My 4 reinforcements moved to block it and counter attack if needed.
    Spoiler :

Down in India, the Spear didn't press the attack and force me to whip Warriors.
Notice instead that Cyrus has an Archer.
That means if or when I decide to attack Persia, I won't steamroll him like Babur and Asoka.

Also, since the north is so dangerous, I'm sending 6 of my Workers south to improve the horses at Delhi so I can still make Chariots after the horse at Samarkand gets pillaged.
    Spoiler :

    Turnset 19 (T156 to T161)

    T156 - Barbarians Attack
Bactra razed by Spear again!
I'm back down to 8 cities.
Chariot defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 100% odds.
Chariot defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 100% odds.
Chariot defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 99% odds.
Warrior defending hill north of Lahore won against Spear at 42.2% odds.
Farm pillaged. Invincible City no longer has any Wheat farms.
    ==============================

Sending all 6 Workers to Delhi to improve horses was dumb. :hammer2:
It is Axes that will turn this insane barbarian invasion around, not Chariots!
Note the Horse tile 1N1W of Samarkand.
What happens if the barbs pillage the horse and road there?
Bronze won't connect to my empire!!! :o

Thus, I turned 3 Workers around and started marching them to the capital.
If needed, they will sit there 10 turns doing nothing in Invincible City waiting for a chance to road 2N1E of Invincible City when there are no barbs around.
The other 3 Workers continued south towards Delhi's horses.
    Spoiler :

Samarkand has built up quite the force of 4 Chariots and 4 Warriors.
I will keep adding units there until I have a strong escort for the Settler to travel up Fury Road and settle on top of Bronze.

I continued trying to whittle down the barbs by placing 2 Warriors in the forest 1N1E of Samarkand.
Hopefully that medic Spear standing in the Bactra ruins will die attacking them across the river.
    Spoiler :

Down south, the Spear finally came out of the fog to threaten Dhaka and forced me to whip a Warrior.
    Spoiler :

    T157 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending Samarkand lost against Spear at 34.5% odds.
Warrior defending forest near Samarkand lost against medic Spear at 66.6% odds to win. (I hate that Bactra Spear!)
Warrior defending forest near Samarkand won against Warrior at 90.1% odds.
Warrior defending forest near Samarkand lost against Warrior at 37.2% odds.
Warrior defending Invincible City lost against Spear at 48% odds.
Farm pillaged by Spear near Dhaka.
    ==============================

All the reinforcements that I'm going to get have just about arrived from the south.
If I'm going to make the run up Fury Road for Bronze, I need to start making that happen now.

The start of T157 does not look so good.
    Spoiler :

Chariot from Invincible City won against Wheat Warrior at 98.6% odds.
I then moved the Chariot north a bit along with a Warrior to bait the 2.9hp Spear 1S of Invincible City who really needs to die!
Chariot from Invincible City won against Warrior just to the northeast at 96.8% and returned to the city.
    Spoiler :

    T158 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending farm west of Invincible City lost against Spear at 3.1% odds.
Warrior defending farm west of Invincible City won against Warrior at 81.2% odds.
Warrior defending Samarkand lost against Spear at 49% odds.
Warrior defending jungle north of Dhaka lost against Spear at 68.8% odds.
    ==============================

2 more Spears appeared from the north, but at least 1 of them is injured.
I continued counter attacking where appropriate.

Warrior from Invincible City won against Spear at 99.8% odds.
Chariot from Samarkand won against Warrior on Sheep at 99.9% odds.
Chariot from Pataliputra won against Spear at 99.9% odds.
    Spoiler :

At the end of T158 counting nearby Warriors, Invincible City has 1 Chariot + 4 Warriors and Samarkand has 3 Chariots + 3 Warriors.
The barbs have 2 Warriors and 4 Spears, 3 of which are injured.
    Spoiler :

    T159 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 100% odds.
Chariot defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 100% odds.
Warrior defending Samarkand won against full hp Spear at 34.5% odds. :)
Warrior defending Samarkand won against medic Spear at 96.8% odds.
Road pillaged 1N1E of Samarkand by Warrior before it attacked city.
Horse+Road pillaged by Spear after it promoted and healed to 3.0hp. :aargh:

Bronze no longer able to be connected to empire without a new road being built.
Chariots can no longer be built.
    ==============================

No offensive moves were able to be executed this turn.
3 more barb Warriors showed up in the north and east.
A new barb Spear appeared in the west near Tashkent forcing me to have 2 Warriors there.
    Spoiler :

    T160 - Barbarians Attack
Wheat Farm pillaged by Spear near Tashkent.
Silver Mine pillaged by Spear.
Empire experiencing widespread happiness problems from all the whipping and no happiness resources.
Finances once again become a problem at -34:gold: per turn.
    ==============================

Caught a break with the Horse tile Spear attacking the AI's Warrior up near Kashgar.
Staying inside cities is keeping my units alive, but the barbs have now pillaged nearly every important tile.
    Spoiler :

Chariot from Samarkand won against Warrior at 99.4%.
    Spoiler :

    T161 - Barbarians Attack
Warrior defending Samarkand won against injured Spear from Silver tile at 86.1% odds.
Warrior defending Tashkent won against Spear at 29.7% odds. :D
Chariot defending Tashkent won against Warrior at 100% odds.
    ==============================

    THIS IS IT!
There are only 3 barbs left that I can see and I have lots of units ready to move.
First, my Chariot easily won against the injured Spear on the Horse tile at 89.8% odds.
    Spoiler :

Next, I moved from my capital a Chariot + Warrior + 3 Workers + Settler onto the silk tile.
From this spot, the Workers can start roading 2N1E of Invincible City and the Settler can join up with troops from Samarkand and make the trip up Fury Road to bronze.
    Spoiler :

    Go Go Go!!!

    Hold on brother.
Is there any possibility to have copper at least for 1 turn ?
You know just settle it. Even if city is destroyed next turn. I c swarm of barbs comming from N but you know situation a lot better.

My though is ... becouse upgrading units is relatively cheep, i would say even that is v cheep.
You can just settle that copper and upgrade couple of warriors. Time it with some :gold: from whips and maybe you can have 2-3 axes. That would deal with this situation.

I dont know do i have good ideas, but i just throwing at you what i got.
Maybe it can help a bit, or you can adopt something, becouse this situation is like **** extra hard.

    Edit

Yes, that is the plan.
Even if the bronze city only lasts 1 turn, I will cold whip Axes in all my cities if I have to! :whipped:

I don't care how many units I have to sacrifice to get the Settler up there.

If you whip and city is destroyed same turn you cant finish axe right ?

    Edit.
I think iam right. If you want to whip you are assuming that you will be able to keep this city for 2 turs( turn witch you settle and next one).

What iam saying is settle it even next to 100 of barbs. And upgrade, they can destroy city when they move but you will have axes rdy.

If you whip... nvm you know what i meen.

    Edit.
I dont want to spoiler you too much so i wont write how much upgrade warrior to axe costs :smoke:

That is a good question. :)
    Let me check.

    **Edit**
Testing indicates that if barbs pillage my source of bronze in between turns, all my Axes will complete if they had 1 turn left to finish. :)
If an AI like Cyrus pillages my bronze during a war, all my Axes will still complete the following turn if they had 1 turn to finish.
If I pillage my own bronze, I'll get the message (Axeman could not be completed) the following turn if they had 1 turn to finish.

Not really sure why it works like that. :dunno: :dunno:
I think it is because the barbs and AI go after the human during the turn.

    Turnset 20 (T162 to T163)

    T162 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending Horse tile lost against Spear who came down Fury Road at 9% odds.
Warrior 2S of Invincible City won against Warrior at 75% odds.
    ==============================

This turn opened with Spears menacing both Tashkent and Invincible City, but both had Warriors to protect them.
Also, a new Spear appeared on the ruins of Bactra, so I couldn't leave Samarkand too defenseless.

My Warrior won against the Spear on Horse tile at 66% odds. :D
    Spoiler :

    **Edit**
My Chariot scout reveals a Spear+Warrior just north of Fury Road.
Not enough to stop me, but it is worrisome!
I assembled 3 Warriors + 3 Chariots + Settler onto Fury Road 1N1W of Horse tile and started to connect the road 2N1E of Invincible City.
    Spoiler :

    T163 - Barbarians Attack
Shock Warrior defending Settler lost against Spear who came down Fury Road at 10.2% odds.
    ==============================

The barbs aren't making this easy. :crazyeye:
One more Spear appeared on the Bactra ruins and another Spear arrived on my Ivory down next to Varanasi.
Plus, the shock Warrior I lost in between turns barely scratched the Spear on Fury Road which is now blocking my way to bronze.
I will have to shoot my way through! :ar15:

    **Edit**
Warrior lost against the Spear on Fury Road at 12.2% odds.
Medic Chariot won against the Spear on Fury Road at 90.9% odds. :D

Continuing on up the road, everything looks clear. :scan:
    Spoiler :

    Now things get complicated.
I can send the Settler up the road, but do I send both Chariots and the Warrior so it has 4 protectors?
    I don't think I can do that.
For one, that leaves 3 attackers against Samarkand which will be defended by 2 Warriors.
For another thing, my 3 Workers will get captured by the 2 Warriors after they finish the extremely important road. :hmm:

    **Edit 2**
I split the difference and had my shock Chariot attack a Warrior and then stay in place to prevent the Workers from being stolen.
Chariot won against Warrior at 99.9% odds.
The other Chariot + Warrior escorted the Settler up the road to join the injured Chariot.
    Spoiler :

Over by Samarkand my Warrior won against the injured barb Warrior at 90.4% odds.
I moved the Warrior + another Warrior from Tashkent towards Invincible City since Tashkent will produce a 2nd Warrior to defend itself against that Spear.
And I also moved both Warriors from Invincible City towards Samarkand to try and reinforce it against that 2nd Spear coming from Bactra.
Things are starting to get tight on the defensive front after sending 7 units north! :whew:
    Spoiler :

Here is Varansi whipping a Warrior to help with the Spear:
    Spoiler :

And here is the Settler and 2 Chariots + Warrior cowering on the road near bronze.
Will I settle on the bronze or get annihilated from the fog? :please:

    Turnset 21 (T164 to T165)

    T164 - Barbarians Attack
Warrior defending Settler lost against Spear on Fury Road at 21.7% odds.
Warrior defending Samarkand won against Warrior at 96.7% odds.
Warrior defending Lahore lost against Spear at 36% odds.
Warrior defending tile 1S1W of Invincible City lost against Spear at 2.8% odds.

Ivory was pillaged near Varanasi
    ==============================

    YES!!!
2 units survived to protect my Settler on Fury Road.
    Time for revenge!.

Bronze City founded on top of bronze! :band:
Would be nice if it worked a silver mine some day, but its lifespan is probably measured in minutes.
Chariot won against injured Spear near Fury Road at 85.5% odds.
Both Chariots moved into Bronze City to protect it.
    Spoiler :

Reinforced Invincible City with my injured shock Chariot.
Now that I have 2 units in both Invincible City and Tashkent, I can start producing Axes and whip them next turn.
I don't care which Warrior that Spear picks to kill next turn.
He will face an Axe the following turn! :mwaha:
    Spoiler :

Samarkand is once again in danger.
It has 3 Warriors and is facing 2 Spears (one is injured)
I can upgrade a Warrior into an Axe, but that costs 110:gold:!
I really don't want to spend so much gold on a unit, but I might have to since a 3rd Spear has appeared on the Bactra ruins.
Even a cold whipped Axe from Invincible City wouldn't make it there in time to save Samarkand.
    Spoiler :

Down south in India, I attacked that pesky Spear.
Warrior from Lahore lost against Spear at 39.2% odds.
Chariot from Varanasi won against Spear at 99.3% odds.
    Spoiler :

    T165 - Barbarians Attack
Chariot defending Bronze City won against Warrior at 99.9% odds.
Chariot defending Invincible City lost against Spear at 3.2% odds.
Warrior defending Samarkand won against Spear at 32.9% odds. :)
Warrior defending Samarkand lost against Spear at 87.1% odds.
    ==============================

Thanks to the weird results at Samarkand, the injured barb Spear will likely get a 2nd promotion and heal up before attacking again.
    Spoiler :

The 3.0hp Spear attack against my full hp Warrior could go either way, but the healed up 2.4 C2 Spear will likely beat my injured 1.2hp Shock Warrior.
So, I need to spend 110:gold: to upgrade my full hp Warrior into an Axe unless I want to flip a coin over keeping Samarkand.
    Gold spent! :D
Get ready to see a STRIKE next turn.
    Spoiler :

Do not be too concerned though, the first turn of STRIKE is free.
It is the 2nd turn of STRIKE that disbands a unit.
And the 3rd turn that disbands 2 more ...

I've taken the precaution of both whipping and chopping a nearly built Warrior in the almost useless city Delhi to generate 122:gold: next turn. :D
    Spoiler :

Also, it is time to start disbanding useless Warriors.
They cost too much to maintain and Axes are far, far superior.
    Spoiler :

The 1st Axe that gets produced in Invincible City next turn needs to get up to Bronze City fast!
Once that barb Spear gets there, it will shred both Chariots and raze Bronze City.
The Axe should get there after the 1st Chariot is dead. :hmm:
    Spoiler :
