This is the base contingency directive from the people of Japanatica, as polled in the doctrinal polls. You have a Cavalry Army HQ (3 Cavalry), a Cavalry Corps (10 Cavalry), half of an Artillery Corps, or 5 Artillery Batallions (5 Cannons) and half a National Guard Corps, or 5 infantry brigades (5 Musketmen) at your disposal (if you reduce key city garrisons to 1 garrison in your military district. This will be the discussion thread if any war with the Zulu develops, or if we upgrade plans,
infrastructure, unit composition and so on, and you will be given the right to post instructions in this theatre of operations and lead discussions from this point on.

According to the polls, the primary objective is the Diamond Monopoly of Tugela, and secondary ones are Isandhlwana and Mpondo, with related iron mines. You also need to dismantle roads out of the province to delay any counterattacks.

Thank you General Provolution. This part of the Northern Command will be in full operation shortly. I will begin with the placement of our defensive troops. We will then proceed with the encouragement of building up the local infrastructure to assist us in providing the needed protection for our people.

I will post orders for the troops and any contingent plans here. At this point, I'm not seeing eye to eye with you on the dismantling of roads out of the local Province. Most, if not all of the roads are in the surrounding hills and will not lend themselves to aiding the Zulus in any kind of advance, at least not with the troops and armorment they now possess.

I'll get back to you shortly, I have to go slap a soldier, kick my dog, and find a flag of Japanatica that will cover an entire wall. :salute:

Psst - he's really out looking for a nice comfy hammock and good glass of wine he can sip while ordering, errr, supervising his flunkies!

It appears to us here at Northern Command HQ that the Zulu's are taking an agressive intrusion into Japanatica territory. A retalitory action may be called for in respons to the Zulu's declaring a bonifide war on us. Thus far, we have taken a very relaxed and defensive Defcon 5 stance in regards to their border with us, but in light of their flirtatious military, I am authorizing troop movements to prepare for possible attack.

Therefore, a request goes out to Chief of Staff Provolution to have the following moves done during the next Chat's pre-turn. The units listed below are now stationed in Zojoji:

1.Send Cav Army to Bentropolis and have it wait (click wait button).
2.Send Vet Cavalry to Osgiliath and wait.
3.Send Vet Cavalry to Duckburg and wait.
4.Send 2 Vet Cavalry to Hill Valley and wait.
5.Send Cannon to Osgiliath and Fortify.
6.Send Cannon to Hill Valley and Fortify.

If war is not declared by the Zulus during pre-turn, hold the units at their assigned locations.

These units are to bolster the defensive stance of the cities they are assigned to. If the Zulus declare war, the Cav units and the Army should be used to clear Zulu units in the area and return to their barracks to heal. If an offensive is to be taken against Tugela, further orders will be posted. As of now, assignments will remain as posted above. If warranted and supported by ANY other troops from other commands, the DP may use the Cav Army to explore and/or attack Tugela.

In this post Chief of Staff Provolution has authorized use of these troops and implimentation of this plan.

May I suggest musketmen also be shifted from the core to the towns and workers being threatened?

Why are we taking 2 turns to grab Tugela, allowing for reinforcements to arrive? Attack through the desert in one swift turn, grab the Gems, and then focus on protecting our cities farther south, allowing us to have better defense in those cities. This war can be much quicker than advertised.

Remember, we will kill of ALL invading forces with the Cavalry we got. The reason why, is that I want the Elite Samurai to maybe get a great leader. I saved them for this.
So what is the problem, 2 or 5 turns, the result will be the same, with the difference we may use our elites in difficult terrain to protect our holdings. Also notice that the invasion
plan blocks reinforcements from Tugela.

Provo, perhaps you should readjust the plans for Tugela so the samurai travel through the desert NW of the workers on hills (current path) then resume normal course, this would net us the worker before it runs away. I doubt Tugela has any large quantities of troops, and likely less chance of counterattack if we keep our troops to the hills and press their lines.

I agree Blackheart, hat is a sound revision for at least 3 of the Samurai, however, the rest will go the other route.
