General Knowledge Quiz

Indeed, Wiki should get the floor. ;)
I first thought it was the Prinz Eugen because I remembered doing a model of it when I was a lad, but the guns turned out to be wrong. So it was a smaller ship. I searched Heavy cruisers for a while and got sidetracked on Operation Crossroads because I wrongly assumed it was one of the ships sunk in the atomic bomb detonation at Bikini.
Then I found the pocket battleships class and there it was.
The Altmark incident confirmed the story.

A very interesting story and a first class Captain, btw.

I find it interesting that the ship sank 9 merchants ships, but no lives were lost.

Anyway, perhaps a_p should get the floor? It is technically his turn. And I don't think Wiki would post a question anytime soon... ;)

Come on then, someone gotta have a question! :hammer:

In George W Bush, W stands for Walker.

And for the other presidents? What does the middle letter stand for?

William H. Harrison
James K. Polk
Ulysses S. Grant
Rutherford B. Hayes
Chester A. Arthur
William H. Taft
Warren G. Harding
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Harry S. Truman
Dwight D. Eisenhower
John F. Kennedy
Lyndon B. Johnson
George H. W. Bush

I think I only know Roosevelt and Truman...

Wow, that was fast.
So, I guess you didn't read Harry Potter ? Good for you, total waste of money. But I still bought them anyway, first editions. Well, Severus is the good/bad guy, and it was the first name beginning with an S that popped to my mind.

And I had 2 correct guesses out of the ludicrous list I sent you...

D'Artagnan is the first to find the full list.

- William Henry Harrison
- James Knox Polk
- Hiram Ulysse Grant (in fact Ulysse Simpson Grant but that's not his real name)
- Rutherford Birchard Hayes
- Chester Alan Arthur
- William Howard Taft
- Warren Gamaliel Harding
- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
- Harry S Truman (yes, that's just an S, with nothing behind).
- Dwight David Eisenhower
- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
- Lyndon Baines Johnson
- George Herbert Walker Bush

I particularly like Gamaliel and Birchard :D And the S of course.

DAMN IT! I could have gotten Grant and Truman had I known those facts about their names!

Harry Severus Truman is still better :p

Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.

Thank you, wikipedia. :p
