General Knowledge Quiz

Is it an Indian city, such as Bombay?

Unless Bombay's in Europe, then no ;)

Okay, more hints.
Slaves, sugar and wine (and its variants) were the main things traded here. In fact, if you wanted to trade with your sugar colonies out West, you'd best do it over here. It was the hub of overseas trade for the entire country.

If wine was one of the main resources there, it sounds like it could be in either France or Italy... Bordeaux perhaps?

Bordeaux perhaps?

Yep.
As mentioned earlier, Bordeuax was the second-largest European port in terms of value of overseas trade. All the sugar and slaves in France would have very likely come from this port during the Old Regime.

Interesting to know that Bordeaux was that large in terms of trade... I thought some of the Spanish or Portugese ports would have been bigger.

What chemical compound is this? It's three "versions" of the same compound.

That's Benzene, if I'm not mistaken.

Allright, sorry for the delay. Here's a quickie masquerading as a semi open floor.

What is your favorite color ?
What is your name ?
What is the airspeed of a sparrow ?

Is it an African or European sparrow?

It should be

What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? :p

And research has shown that the European swallow (the migratory one) flies at approximately 24mph.

I am choxorn, General of a bunch of zombies.
My quest? Eh, answer this question.
Is it an african swallow or a european swallow?

Sneerk was the quickest...

Your turn now to post a real question.

{And I realize now that I mixed up name-quest-swallow with name-color-capital of Assyria :)}

Right.

In astronomy, what is a brown dwarf?

Actually...

Or something like that. :p

And in response to Sneerk's question, a brown dwarf is a stellar object that lacks the mass to create hydrogen fusion reactions, but was formed in the same way as any other star (a cloud of interstellar gas and dust formed clumps and eventually those clumps grew big enough to form a protostar, blah blah blah, astrophysics).

Choxorn knows his brown dwarfs. You may proceed.
