General Turn Discussion

Even if they get them now though.....can they beat us?

They need to get an average of 880 base beakers to get Lib by t127. I figure they can get at most 600ish this turn if they really push, and next turn if they use a golden age (which I think is possible) they would have to get over 1100 base beakers. I can't really see how they can do that.

Then like I said......they just figured out they are screwed!

Not that it's something we need to be too terribly concerned about at the moment, but Kaz is settling more aggressively against PM.

Are we OK with voting down the pause? Me and Memphus discussed it and couldn't really see a disadvantage. Cav can't really do anything with the extra time apart from slow the game down...

I'm getting to the point where I'm liking letting Cav stew. But I would definately appreciate it if Cav couldn't pause the game until they get techs from Kaz. If they can wait 6 days, Kaz are much more likely to buckle than if they can only wait 2 days.

Then vote down the pause! I'm sure Saturn will also, which means they have no more than another 24hrs at the most.

We will work it out with Saturn. Technically they are allowed 120 hours as per the rules. Sulla has advocated they move.

As of 3:24ish tommroow Saturn and Us will vote it down, log in and unpause. Cav can't do anythign about that. As that takes it from 120 hours down to 72, which will have experied at the time of our post.

Dirty? a Little. But who cares.

Unpause tomorrow afternoon. I don't see how it's dirty. They still get the rest of their turn to act. And we've telegraphed that this is what we're going to do.

Cav still gets 4 days total to negotiate a new deal with Kaz. I don't see how that's dirty. That's at least enough time to get a proposal, send it to Kaz, get a response, and decide what to do with said response. If that's not enough time to get a deal, Cav isn't going to get a deal. And I don't want to give them the leverage to let them threaten "we'll make the game incredibly slow if you don't give us what we want, Kaz".

I'm surprised that they're afraid to post in the general discussion why they need the pause. Do they really think that we aren't behind or supporting Kaz's backstab of them? :D Or are they afraid of letting MS know what's going on? Somehow, I find THAT unlikely (they ought to assume that Saturn basically knows what we know).

Ironically the infomation is already public. Kaz have philo and edu. Cav don't, and Cav were always going to be the team to research lib. The fact that they don't have the techs reveals that Kaz are playing hardball.

How exactly is that spoiler infomation? Sometimes I wonder just how good a team Cav is...

T128 is going to be a massive turn not just for us, but for Cav as well. Even if they do everything else that they expected to do on that turn, they'll have just failed one of the easiest things they could have done in this game by not assuring Lib.

How much time is left on the clock?

btw - I think it's a lame way to work. If we want to vote it down, vote it down NOW.

About 3 hours left.

They have enough time to play thier turn.

Pausing is lame IMO. We are following the rules by us and Saturn double voting down thus removing 48 of their 120 hours. Unpasuing there after is also following the rules.

voting it down now does nothing really. If they cant figure out from my post that their timer is going to get voted down...well i dont know what to say....

Not that I know of...I wouldn't have seen the point tbh. We knew as soon as Kaz wanted Zero and TKY that we weren't taking them seriously, so no point to tell Saturn. Maybe if Kaz respond with a valid? offer we should do though.

So since Kaz hasn't given us a counter-offer (they've gotten plenty of time with this pause to do so if they desired), what could they be trying to get out of Cav? Land (ours?)?

If Kaz gives us a deal that we're likely to accept, I agree, we should let our allies know.

The only deal they seem to want includes the 2 cities, which is a deal breaker for us imo.

But like I said before, if they want a 50 turn NAP so they can attack Cavs....:mischief:

Kaz tried that route, and Cav (as well as MS IIRC) gifted gold to Kaz to upgrade units. Sufficed to say it didn't work.
