General Turn Discussion

i'll sim it out and post in the other thread before we are commited 100% :) (2 turns away)

that is true - but you get a small bump in research if you are researching something that someone else knows,

Only problem with that line of research is that we get granaries later, but if we aren't planning on building those right away anyway (and I don't think we are), there are no problems

We potentially get the "small bump" when we research Pottery, if we meet someone else by then, which is probably more likely anyway.

As I said before...I "think" this is a pretty big map. We need to explore!

well that should be the next disuccusion then. in City #2 do we go barracks, then 2 warriors then axemen....

or do we go 6 warriors, axemen no barracks?

I'm still for as few warriors as possible.

Well...the amount of warriors we would build would always be variable, I think. No reason we why couldn;t just build one then get a barracks. It should take 3 warriors on max growth until we get copper hooked up if we irigate the wheat first.

why build a barracks right off, though? We can use warriors for MP and axes for anti-barb operations and they'll get nicely promoted that way.

We need explorers, we aren't certain to have horses nearby, and exploring with axes is expensive, so 1 or 2 warriors before a barracks wouldn't be a bad. Building the warriors after a barracks is also interesting; we could promote them to woodsman 1 and would only be 2 XP away from the woodsman2 promo, which we could do it if we chopped the barracks using the grassland forest. Because we want hunting for happiness and we want it son to cheapen AH, I think building 1 or 2 warriors first would be a good idea.

PS, I hate not being able to use HTML code...

Cheap warriors are good for lots of things....

Exploring early...fogbusting barbs later...and finally MP duty after HR for the happy.

Nothing is cheaper....and even if you have to pay to upgrade later....it is an option.

The copper city is capable of churning out 2 turn axes, so the barracks there is pretty ustifiable and building it early would please the people who dont want too many warriors.

Sorry, I was thinking that but missed stating the obvious in my post it seems...I'l go edit it in to make the post more sensible...
