General Turn Discussion

i have seen horses appear on hills in my games :D it is rare.

Also this map isn't so "natural"

Ain't that the truth...I think W2 needs to go N, and see if there is any sea food; if there isn't, or it is N or NE of the warrior next turn, then I think city 5, 6 or 7 should go 36 of the sheep.

W1: SE
W2: N
W3: SW
W4: S

Worker 1: Move E
Worker 2: Mine
Worker 3: Chop

CK change build to worker.

Is N of Houtman (the warrior by the sheep) a hill? Would we lose line of sight tiles by moving NW onto the sheep? WOuldn't that gain us a few tiles seen, or would they all be mountains?

Also what are the signs marked seafood? Is that just where you think there might be some, or you did see some, or what?

The tiles marked "seafood?" I added a fair while ago, as I was wondering where the food was for a city up there.

Moving onto the sheep gives us 2 less coastal/sea tiles that we can see, and one of them (88, or NN) of the sheep is workable from ourside of the mountains

Barentzs SE into his element > then NE into forest again.

Houtman N is only real option.

W4 > S

worker 1 > move E and farm 1 turn > road(finish) 4 of wheat following turn > then start prechopping in CK
worker 2 > mine
worker 3 > chop

worker 1 > move E and farm 1 turn > road(finish) 4 of wheat following turn > then start prechopping in CK
worker 2 > mine
worker 3 > chop

Worker 1: Is this the one in the capital that just finished the mine? If so: CK doesn't need prechopping, if we let worker 3 chop/mine the plains hill then chop/mine the grass hill in the capital, then worker 3 along with workers 2 (the one on the copper, General_W) and worker 5 (the one that we should build when CK grows to size 2) will be able to chop the 4 forests required and keep CK improved in time for pop growth. This lets worker 1 go to the jungle hill and road to the city site for the next settler so that the city is built one turn sooner, and give enough time to irrigate a grassland for when the granary is done to speed growth to size 5.

I think I understand now....I thought the next worker from IS (the 1 under construction now) had those tasks.

Nah, that worker (Worker 4) gets to chop into the settler, and then chops into a granary, then roads a grasshill, then pastures a cow...we could have let worker 4 start roading, but it required a second worker to geth te road finished in time and this messed with the chopping. It's more efficient if we get the road in early, as then we can get a farm done in the capital (worker 1) without wasting worker turns.

if we fortify the warrior (Barentsz) he will:
one get a 5% fortify bonus vs. the lion
2: heal to full :strength: before the fight (or will he??? hmmm)
either way he gets the promo....then can clip it through those forests to the east.

Barentsz. promote obviously. but then heal? untill what :stength:

Spoiler :

What do we do with Houtman? if he moves 1 tile S again he is a fog buster meaning no barbs can show up to the West of IS and the north of CK. we then effectively only defend to flank's. (until ships go live.)

well, he'll be able to move 2 after this through forest, so I'd just as soon move him to the hill and heal for awhile.

Houtman is the one who just found our sheep/fish site? I'm ok with using him to bust fog up there.

Barentsz should heal to full strength where he is. He will start out 5% fortified and the river gives some nice cover. He is a valuable unit now and I'd hate to put him at risk of facing another attack in this state by moving further into the unknown.

hmm - interesting point.

We know there is a lion behind him. We don't know what is on the other side.

He's at 55% (60%) next turn - anything on the other side of the river makes it 85%, plus he's not moving towards it - plus, he's more visible on a hill to a panther.

1889 makes a good point - I think healing in place is the way to go.

i am confident he will win without taking a scratch. then he will have 1.9 :strength: after the promotion. to me if he has 1.9 :strength: he should move. if he has 1.8 move (as we have been moving with 1.8 right now and will stick to forests thus keeping the +100% def bonus.

if less than 1.8 :strength: heal.

I agree with Memphus here....

I don't always!:p
