BTW, I think it would be a good diea to hokld a quick vote on if we should give a yay or nay to this pause; it could get the game restarted 24 hours sooner than otherwise.

I think the simplest argument for saying nay is two fold; cavs said they are not likely to use the full time, so the 24 hours may not even be required, and we never held the save up fo more than, what, 8 hours? Even though we had to completely recalculate our MM.

I'm goingto vote nay, to get the game moving sooner. If the cavs never thought to plan for the contingencies, then that is their fault; I always had a couple of contingencies in case they got the Oracle super fast, although I didn't post the MM.
 
I vote to let them have the full 120 if they want. I was in favor of PBEM all along so this game is racing along as far as I'm concerned. I also would prefer to keep our diplomatic record clean for the time being.
 
I agree with 1889 here....no reason to stir the pot if they plan on playing relatively quickly anyway.
 
well if they get 120 hours, there is like 12 hours on clock or something, so at 108hours from my post someone should go in and unpause.
 
I agree they should have had contingency plans and this pause is a little annoying - but let's not give them yet another reason to want to galvanize the other teams into destroying us.

Voting to reduce someone's pause allotment should be restricted to teams that abuse the privilege repeatedly, imo. This scenario doesn't qualify, I don't think.
 
nope we can wait. but it would be nice if they updated us. they did say a little extra time....
 
Well, the rules state they can have the game paused for up to 120 hours, so they requested the pause @0411 GMT 05/02/09, so thay have had 45.28 so far, and something like 15 hours remaining on the game clock when the unpause happens, so the game could remain paused until 0411 10/02/09, with the save not played until 1911 GMT Tuesday. And as the weekend is normally a dead time on this forum, we could be in no mans land for a while yet.

Kind of annoyiong with only 2 turns played this month, IMO.
 
should Stuy heal for 1 turn?

It's the safesty place to heal...hopefuly the two last wolves on the map turn up next turn :)
 
1 then either NW or SE IMO. NW is probably where the other team is though, unless Sullla unbalanced the map by making on team central and the other four peripheral. (basically I agree with you about the likely positions of civs on this map). One coment though is that maybe that northern routeis similar to our north route, and this is just an island of peaks similar to the ones south of our capital.
 
Quick question do the updates need anything else in them? (looking for less active posters here) or do you get an idea of what is going on with our empire?
 
You might mention which tile a worker is roading/farming.
 
That would be a lot of info to enter. As a fairly inactive member right now, I think the Turn Updates are great when they are the only thing I have time for.
 
Now, something that might be helpful (but time consuming) is the occasional summary (just one paragraph) giving an overview of what's going on.
 
Thanks for the offer. I personally don't need it, as I'm back to reading nearly everything, and don't want to add to the awesome work you guys are already doing. Just had a two week period where I really did just read the Played Turn thread. But, if some of the Lurkers out there wanted to chime in....
