General Turn Discussion

Does anyone have masonry? Utimate irony, is that if they don't we could easily build it before anyone else in IS (and the GSpy would be awesome for scouting). Not suggesting that we do, just that we could.
 
Questions: Where does Zur explore next turn? East, and then south, or south now and head through the openning that MS might be going through?

Also, what about Barentz? He could promote to woody 3 if that warb warrior attacks him, or he could kill him and get that promo next turn, but do we want to kill the city? It might require us to attack 3 warriors, and even with woody3 we only have 2 free strikes so barentz may take some damahge and have to heal (but he will heal at +25% of health a turn in open land due to w3). Every 25 gold from killing the city should speed alphabet by a turn, but it possibly delays meeting Saturn if they don't have any explorers out at all.

Also, fingers crossed for Stuy...

Now for the bad news:

Stuy is dead :(

And the other warrior didn't attack Barentz. So that means there is 3 warrior's in that city + 1 more on the way in, AND as we can se 1 more to the NE of Barentz. 5 Warriors. Wow. Also there is 2headed for the city, that Stuy spotted 3-4 turns ago.

Stuy is dead, but...if we sent the axe out of CK it could get there in about a dozen turns, slaughter those warriors and when it hits 5XP promote to woody two and then zoom off (maybe even send 2 axes? There sure are alot of barbs). That'd let Barentz explore now (which we can't afford not to do anymore) either west or north (I'd say west and send a galley with a chariot on to the NW to explroe up there).

There's more jungle to the NE, so that's where I'd move him, since he's a woodsman.
 
I agree with Dutchfire. NE sounds good.
It's less efficient in the long-run, but it'll be good to know everything about our surrounding terrain.

Also - I just want to speak up here and say I think we need to do everything in our power to locate Saturn asap.

Yesterday wouldn't be too fast, imo.

We have trade routes with Kaz and MS; we could ask for OB with MS and try to get some extra commerce from the trade routes, or we could hope that we get the OB with Cav and get the trade routes with them when they get sailing. I think that would be preferable, as Cavs have 5 cities, so we would get all 5 trade routes, whereas MS have only 4 cities and so we would only get 4 trade routes and hence 1 less commerce per turn.
 
It's actually sick that if we turn all of our population into citizens we still have the highest MFG.

But, will we actually get the trade routes? I don't think we will unless we've personally explored to their border.
