General Turn Discussion

We do need workers... lots and lots of workers. when do we have to decide on the worker from PM? Would there be value in switching to slavery in the GA and slaving out a couple of workers in OO or one of the coastal cities?

After our next turn. (LB is built this turn)

Would there be value in switching to slavery in the GA and slaving out a couple of workers in OO or one of the coastal cities?

Nope. GA benefit is magnafied when MoM is done. Slavery = no Serdom = less productive current workers.

We will be able to get by, it is all a matter of maximization right now. By knowing all the choices we make the most effective move.

Another option is crank 2 triremes out of PM and then have 3 of them sail down and try to burn all of Kaz's fishing boats.

I was thinking we switch for 5 turns and slave out a few workers, then switch back, rather than switch forever.

I thought the plan for PM was workboat first?

Yeah, PM needs to build the workboat next, so we have until t121 to decide on the build in PM.

Also, we really need Caste to pump out a GS for an academy in JD. That means from t120 until t127 we need CS, so no slavery.

Ok was in and out with Saturn there they got CS finally (didn't work first couple of times) they revolted, that is what i wanted to make sure of (to Burea and Caste)

I will play in ~1 hour here have a meeting of all things

Playing with Chamnix in the civ3 MTDG, I'll agree to any worker build :)

About fogbusting for barbs.

There is an article somewhere, war academy probably, but I don't remember. This may be old news for everyone also, so if it is, please ignore.

IF I remember correctly, the basics of the article shows that NO barbs will spawn within 2 tiles of cultural borders, or within 2 tiles of ANY unit, including other barbs, including the diagonals.

So, straight race to Lib?

We need to average 375 base bpt to get edu in 6, and 440 base bpt to get Lib in 4.

Doable? Definately. Now it's just doing the sodding MM...

well...

Cav has Engineering, which means Kaz will have it soon.

Which means Pikes, Trebs and 3 move roads for Kaz.
Trebs probably aren't a problem.
Pikes are a problem, since they are more effective against HA and (especially) war elephants than WE are.
3 move roads are a problem, too.

engineering also opens up castles, but I doubt they'll build any.

Tactically it's not a massive shift in favour of Kaz: we will hit a stack that enters our land with cats. We will then proceed to kill it with whatever we have on hand. End of problem. Castles? SANCTA is the team playing defence atm...Road movement? True, slaved Kaz units get to the front quicker, but...what slaved Kaz units? They have base 9 happiness (I checked F4 for their trades), and alot of cities have already reached near to the max...they can't slave all that much anymore. But whatever.

If they try to attack us with ministacks aka their last strategy? Axes have odds on pikes...and cost alot less.

So at least 1 of the units Kaz built was a longbow, and they just received a gift of engineering.

Half of our turn plaeyd so if you log in please don't move anything.

I need soem direction on the west.

what is more important? A WE defend vs kaz? or getting DT up and running ASAP? If Kaz advance right now we can't counter, too many troops are tied up with barbs.

I think we need more units up at the front lines, so I'm good with a war elephant. I guess we still have the river to send ivory along.

In any case, war elephants are useful counters, even for knights, so I'm sure we'll find a use for one.

We can't get DT up and running before the next wave arrives.

OTOH we can see that Kaz has built at least 1 longbow, possibly more.

The question is how much do we want to gamble. I think that with Kaz getting engineering and moving back up to 205k soldiers, allowing a stack behind Taraz can still threaten Zero, we need to get the WE.
