Genghis Khan II scenario

We should just keep working on it and people should join instead of waiting around. There isn't a lot of people modding now, but when Civ V comes out there will be less, so we need to get it done by then really.

Most of the work up to now:

The dark purple are the neutrals. I might give the dutchy of Athens to Naples though, i think it was allied with Tuscany, but Tuscany is part of the neutrals in the scenario as well.

dont worry Kyriakos i got your back here are dome cities in China that are a must have i know this for a fact casue your map is more detailed then my Modified Giga-Nice map for Civ2 test of time that does not have antartica thats not finished and wont get done till after im back from wisconsin in early june. i leave out of the airport this very morning.

heres the list of cities i got for china not including the china on Centaurus

1.Harbin
2.Shenyang
3.Beijing
4.Xi'an
5.Tsingtao
6.Hefei-Wuhu
7.Shanghai
8.Zhejiang Prov.
9.Fuzhou
10.Hainan Prov
11.Lhasa or Tibet
12.Urumqi
13.Kuming
14.South Sinkiang

if you find holes just fill them with province names
do not leave any of china with civilization holes its a must have to fill it up as theres well over a billion humans here all population must be acounted for put the holes in russia on my test of time exstended original ill upload it will only have 3 cities eastern ,central and western. western russia is the largest region stretching from novsibirsk to vladivodstock.

dont forget to mod the rules file or whatever must be done to make terrarin squres more food productive so a city can support tens of millions of people.

merge Arta and Ioannia and use the slot to put in Neupaktos right across from patra. epirus would still be just as powerful

Thanks for the info but remember that this isn't a modern scenario so China won't have over 1billion people.

i know its not a modern scenario but it has to have capacity to hold a modern amount of people some day. just fill up china with cities.

im on vacation right now im just checking my email at a university library in wisconsin.

Kyriakos, I've just started on some walls terrain, you might be interested in it.

Quite odd to not only have modern names of provinces as cities have cities that didn't really exist or were hardly substantial in the 13th century. If you're going to Romanize any of the Chinese names, stick with the Pinyin instead of mixing it with Wade-Giles; that only makes things confusing.

The list for the Song Dynasty should be as follows:

Capital: Kaifeng
-or if starting with the Southern Song period: Lin'an

Cities:
Jiankang
Chengdu
Quanzhou
Yangzhou
Fuzhou
Tongchuan
Jiangling
Tanzhou
Xiangyang
Shouchun
Jiangning
Qingzhou
Zhengding
Taiyuan
Jingzhao
Xingyuan
Longxing
Daming
Yingtian
Kuizhou
Guangzhou
Chaozhou
Haizhou
Wenzhou

EDIT: Just noticed that you said you'd start the scenario at 1300. In that case, keep all these cities mentioned above, but have the capital as Da-du for Yuan. Da-du is where present-day Beijing is; it also was called "Khanbalik."

If you need a list for the Kingdom of Goryeo, I can supply that as well.

im back from vacation. i flew back home to ohio on the 5th of june at 6:15 pm. i been back home for about 6 hours. yeah that was a modern list of names but my knowledge of names in the past is not so great as yours. and this ending the scenarioa in 1500 AD is very arbitary why not 1600 AD casue your thinking 1500 only casue thats when new world gets exspord but 1500 to 1600 there was virtually no settle ment of the new world 1600 AD is better year for end of the scenario it would be good for a conflict of the ottomans conquering the mameluks in 1517 AD. and 1517 AD incidentally is where historians now think the middle ages came to a end meaning the middle ages lasted for 1017 years from 500 to 1517..

i difinatly think it could be more fun to use time period realistic names for places. but for me to memorize all of that is imposible. its thousands of names. i struggle with just having memorized about 1,000 names of nations that exsisted over the past few thousands years.

i should go to ebay and buy this game but my Income is very low. as i dont have employment right now casue of this depression the USA is in. but in time my descreationaly spending pool of money should be slightly higher and ill be able to commit funds to working on a Civ3 project. untill then just show me map pieces pictures and ill lend support on what cities i think should go on the maps. dont worry i own plenty of historical atlases that i bought over the years.

Necropolis it would really be great if you got civ3 and started a scenario :) I could help you with gfx and some ideas, whereas i am not really good with overall scen creation.

ok well in that case. find out if theres a way to geneate units by certain players at specifc years in the game around certain places like there was in civ 2. that way you could mold the time line of this game into a more realistic world.

for instance when its a certain year tell the rules file to create units around certain cities if you need a certain city to fall into the hands of a certain empire.

im certain that. your making the neutrals all wrong. usallly barbarians hold the function of being the extra civilization. neutrals are just ment to be a tribe thats kinda like something else but united in the casue for a common goal like being in a rebelion . or they are a collection of small states in a confederation . like in medival europe ,take the holy roman empire for example.

if i were to make this scenario id end it in the year 1600 AD.

Also id just use the civilizations that came with the game not try to mod them.

also i never agreed on the concept of there being scenarios specifically made for certain mod packs , or the concept of there only being one scenario in a mod pack. becasue if this happins then a game gets called a scenario when its not all it then is is just a modpack thats orphaned.

Civ III doesn't have events, so this isn't possible.

It might be possible to attempt a workaround, such as giving the AI civ several improvements that spawn the desired units at very long intervals, and then putting some resource that that civ wants in the location where you want the units to appear, and hoping that the units will be spawned at the correct time and the AI will move them to the place where you want it to invade. But this sort of thing is very rough and ready.

I'm afraid you can't apply Civ II modding methods to Civ III - they're just not the same.

I think that Steph was working on a way to have some kind of events, although they would be basic, a text file and some spwaned units, and you would have to reload for each event.
Not sure how this plan is going though.
