Getting Conquests for christmas!

Im gunna get conquests for christmas , whats the first thing i should do after i install and load it up? Should i start a new game, try out the new scenarios? What are some good scenarios or things to get off civ fanatics? Any big changes to watch for? tips and suggestions greatly appreciated.

I started a new game and messed around with the new stuff first (there are several changes, you kind of need to learn yourself, plus I'm too lazy to list them all ), then played all the Conquests. COTM08 will come out on Jan. 1st, which is like a competition game (there's GOTM for Civ3 and PTW, and COTM for Conquests), you may want to give it a try. There's PBEM (Play by E-Mail, you can play against other human players, most games are on Conquests) and SGs (Succession games, you play about 10 turns, post the save and what happened, then another player plays it, and so on, they're also on Conquests often.) I got it last year for Christmas. Try COTM 07 at the game of the mounth area. This mouth is Austria, so you can get a bonus civ.

Somebody should heavily suggest patching up to 1.22, and then playing through the Conquests.

I was supposed to get Conquests for Christmas. My mom was actually supposed to get me Civilization Gold so that I could replace my badly damaged Civ3 CD plus actually have some of the expansion packs like Conquests and PTW but she forgot even though I told her like 20 times this past month. It was the only thing I had on my list and she got me tons of other stuff like a beach towel and tweezers.

Awesome YanksGiants! Definitely patch it to v1.22, and then enjoy! If it were me, I would probably play an epic game, to get acquainted with the new game elements. Also, try an agricultural civ, as their food production advantage is quite nice. Again, enjoy! :thumbup:

Jan, I'm sorry about your not getting it for Christmas. Maybe you could "trade" in something that you didn't like a whole lot for Conquests, or maybe mom will get it for you anyway if you ask really nicely and promise to be a good boy all next year. :thumbup:
