if you're struggling for research on low levels something must be badly wrong somewhere. you should be racing ahead at those levels. maybe you're overexpanded elsewhere?
They contribute to higher expenses (maintenance and possibly civics) so they are worse than useless if collected without purpose. You can, however, whip them away for production value.
Exactly. Very good point. I do purposely collect them in certain strategic cities for whipping an expensive building I desire. I don't let them build up all over but they do have their uses when using slavery.
This game that i just started is going by so much quicker. There are only 58 turns left and I haven't played more than 10 hours(no idea how i ddi all this in that amoutn of time). I am almost done researching everything and the other team is really behind. Cottages did helep alooooot my scientific research was on 100% throughout the whole game and I was still gaining money right now about 100+ per turn. I don't have a lot of cities though and like 50% of the land is still uninhabited.
