Getting Started

Hmm.. I tried the germans on 7.0 beta and it seems like the barbs wont surrender. im not getting any when i kill them :(

ive tried reinstalling the mod and deleting the cache
 
There's a thread for this (6.9 German SA Bug). The same thing happens to me some of the time.

Oops, I didnt notice the bug subforum. Well, my bug isnt the same. I dont get any barbs at all.. not even from the beginning. Ill try the ottoman specialist spam meanwhile :p

Do you mean there are no barbs in the game, or they don't surrender from the very beginning? I had the latter problem, but not the former.

Oh, I mean that they dont surrender at all.. not even the first turns. You mentioned that the barbs did surrender a while. Ill try another one after ottoman game and kill a barb as fast as possible.

To be clear, the Ottomans can't make the barbs surrender - only the Germans can. In my German games, the barbs quit surrendering anywhere from the very start - just like you - to much later.

Yea of course :p I meant that after my ottoman game ill try the german SA again and see if they surrender very early. But its maybe unnecessary since there clearly is a bug anyway

btw, i noticed that i had the grand bazaar as ottomans. I have to go right now so ill post a screenshot or save later

edit: yep, I just tried it with Washington and i got a bazaar after i got my first luxury. Ill try reinstalling mod and removing cache. And i should probably post about bugs in the bug forum :p

edit2: deleted cache and moduserdata and now it works properly. the german SA still wont work, ill post about it in the other thread :)

Had grand bazaar too. Also every time i reserch A. Theory im unable to select production in any city - Rush buy works .

Why? No idea... Maybe M. Project? Dunno. All i know is that this never happened untill i downloaded beta 7.0 version of TBC.
Also units have wierd" profesional army" promotions - and icon for that promo change randomly or there is none. Did try all - clr catche etc - nothing works and the game is dead.

After clr and reinstaling all I will try another game and see if reserching A. theory will bug production again.
 
I also have the Grand Bazaar as the Ottomans. I only have one colosseum, but am getting +7 happiness for buildings. In terms of calculating what the GB is providing, I have 5 luxuries: 3 silk, 1 gold, 1 marble.
 
Silly me, I created the code for the extra happiness but forgot to create a new trait attribute to check for! I must have been tired. This should be fixed in the next beta build. :lol:
 
No I'm not being sarcastic - many people haven't realized there's a bugs forum. I want to improve its visibility if possible. I could include a link to the bug forum in the mod download, if that might help?

To avoid unnesesery topic spam - on this ocasion :

Since ur mods already drasticly change the game, would u mind doing something about Rifling ---> R. parts problem ?

To make R. Parts req rifling as in most of my games both me and AI transfer directly from Muskets to Infatry with is ultimatly wrong.

I wouldnt say it goes beyond "balance" and could be adopted in some way.
 
It's possible to give infantry a rifling prerequisite without linking the techs themselves. I haven't done so because I feel it's unnecessary... musketmen can't upgrade to infantry, so if the intermediate tech is skipped we've gotta start over from scratch anyway.
 
Well yes i noticed the upgrade patern for that, but that dosnt change the fact that my city is producing Infantry/planes when my civilization have no idea about rifling or oil engine ^^

But i understand ur point. After all, current civ lack in so many aspects ( esp for a fan of civ4 total realism such as myself ) that it may be better for firaxis to give us more tools or expansion ala BDS for civ4 etc. etc. b4 we start to do more then just "balance" things out.

Well just thinking out laud.
 
Noob question please??
When Thal says delete Cache folder does he mean the whole folder or just whats in the folder??
