Getting the other languages

To my knowledge there are language folders for French, German, Italian, Japanese & Spanish out there, but the game setup didn't install these languages. Would it be possible to somehow get these files? As I'm making a Finnish language pack I'd like to examine the other languages (besides English) in hope of finding more usage samples.

At the moment the language system seems to be more limited than what it was in Civ IV, especially as you can't use the <LanguageNameHere>word:words:wording</LanguageNameHere> syntax for having multiple variations of one word. At least I haven't figured out a way to do it. I really have a need for these variations, because in many places I have issues with "odd" language if I have to use the most basic form of a word.

Other than that the system Civ V uses for languages is clearly better than the one in Civ IV. It could be even better, but I'm quite happy with what I have atm :) Maybe Civ VI will answer all the language needs properly.

I've got no idea. I goot the game from Steam in France and don't even have the French language option availbale...

Right-click the game in Steam and choose "Properties".
On the "Language" tab there you can switch the available languages. Steam will download the missing files afterwards.

I'm trying to modify TXT_KEY_PLOTROLL_UNIT_DESCRIPTION_CIV to select a specific gender to use (although I don't need genders themselves, I try to select a particular case of a word using it).

{1_CivAdjective:textkey} {2_UnitName^'neuter:keskellä'}

Why this doesn't work? There is no usage sample for ^ (which is used for gender selection afaik). I'm having a hard time understanding the "Syntax Lexical Diagram" at the end of the wiki page.
