GG 1: Religious Fanatics

24 hour to got it. 72 to report.

I'm thinking give 20 turns first round and 10 turns after that.

Only reason i said for u to take it, is because we really don't have any order. But I'll give him time.

Pre turn.

Cranked research to 100% on Mysticism. -1 gold per turn. What do we need gold for? Our beloved diety will provide in our times of need.

20 turns:

3500: Contact from English Scout. Traded the Wheel for Bronze working and 10 gold in order to outfit our Holy Warriors with better armor.

Settler(/Missionary) completed in Kyoto and sent south to spread the word and expand worship of our beloved diety.

2950: Contact with France. Traded Wheel & Pottery for Masonry and gold. Holy Warriors continue explorations.

2900: Holy exploration continues.

2850: Holy city of Osaka founded on coast. Worker started. This should be the city for the Colossus. The location is going to overlap with 2 of the capitol squares. It was just too tempting to pass up with the shielded grasslands, the whale, and the cow

2800: Holy Temple started in Kyoto in order to better worship our beloved diety.

2750: Holy exploration continues

2710: Holy exploration continues

2670: Holy exploration continues

2590: Our Prophets divine the nature of Mysticism. Polytheism started.

2550: Holy exploration continues

2510: Temple Created in Kyoto.

2470: Holy exploration continues

2430: Holy exploration continues

2390: Holy exploration continues

2310: Holy exploration continues. Heathen barabarians seen roaming the landscaping.

2270: Holy exploration continues, New holy Warrior completed in Kyoto, granary started.

2230: Holy exploration continues. Warrior defeats heathen, promoted to elite. The palace was improved.

2190: Heathen barbarian activity increasing in the homeland, the holy warriors up north are being recalled. We have one holy warrior defending the 2 cities.

2150: Holy warriors moved closer.

2110: Holy Warriors moved closer

Things we need: More cities! Homeland defense, I let the warriors get too far North and we're stuck with one defender for the two cities.

Remember...we need to research all Religious "Techs" at 100%...regardless of what it does to us in terms of finances and happiness (fortunately there aren't any after Theology...)

There is no established play order.

So far:
Me first, ming 2nd. ChrTh wants to go last so thats where he is. Exsanguination if you want to go now you can.

Hope Sealman will report in and tell when he's up to it.

TF has moved the other SGs over to the new forum but not this. Please move this one too, because otherwise some of us won't notice.

I've just read several SG threads...and didn't realize we'd been moved to a new forum! :D

Does this mean I no longer have to avoid the NES threads? :)

:sheep:

Yeah, I still need to be last. I'm at training, and I don't have Civ III with me (urge to buy laptop...rising...)

Alright - here we go

2110 - Our mystics contact the unworthy French and broker a rather profitable deal, we trade our religion in Mysticism for their Alphabet and Warrior Code. We also extrude 9 gold from them (we are allowed to trade religious techs, right?)

2070 - The lack of a warrior in Kyoto has caused discontent among the people. Entertainers are swiftly ordered to appease them.

1950 - A band of heathen warriors is crushed by our mighty warrior, and 25 gold is taken as reparation.

1910 - The granary in Kyoto is finished! A holy setller is ordered up. A look at our research, and we are in a 4 gold deficit! Alas, our mystics refuse to cut funds.

Thats pretty much all that happned. We have 5 turns to Polytheism at a -4 deficit. The English know the Iroquois, but don't knwo the French. They consider contact w/ Iroquois very worthy, as they ask for exorbitant fees for such knowledge.

The granary in Kyoto slowed us down a bit in expansion, so i reccomend we go settler-spearman/settler-spearman until we get many good cities. There are several prime spots, Including one next to Osaka on a river w/ a cow (and near horses!), one with 2 wheat that the current settler is heading for, and another good one w/ 2 cows and 2 dye in it borders (i believe) - CATCH THAT ONE.

Good luck,

I apologize. Did not realize that the SG games got moved into another folder. I am still in if you want me.
Yeah you're in. Its ok. I didn't realize at first either.

You can pick up the game after Exsanguination.

Yeah all non-scientific improvements and wonders are allowed.

1700 BC: Religious Exploration

1675 BC: Enlighted a Barbarian Kushan Camp, rewarded with 25 gold.

1650 BC: Enlighted a Barbarian Seljuk Camp, again the Gods reward us with 25 gold.

1625 BC: Discoverd Poltheism and traded it to England for Iron Working, Writing, Contact with the Iroquois and 47 GOld.
Traded Writing to Iroquois for 30 Gold
Traded Polytheism to France for Horseback Riding. Now researching Map Making so that we can build ships and enlighten those in other lands.

1600 BC: Founded the Holy city of Tokyo near 'Fishy Lake'

1575 BC: English found city, was leading a Barbarian towards their settler but ploy failed.

1550 BC: Religious Exploration.

1525 BC: Religious Exploration.

1500 BC: Holy City of Edo is founded near the horses. Spearman with settler fortifies. Holy Missionaries set out from Kyoto heading towards an iron deposit on a ridge of hills with a river flowing by. Should make for a good defensive city once the heathens begin to reject enlightenment.

1475 BC: Religious Exploration.

____

Current city construction
Edo: Temple (14 turns)
Osaka: Spearman (2)
Kyoto: Spearman (3)
Tokyo: Spearman (8)

There is a barbarian camp somewhere to the west which needs enlightenment.

I belive that there is 14 turns to Map Making.
