In my current game on Noble I am playing as JC of the Romans. Ghandi has only one city that is a trip holy city and has the oracle and stonehenge in it and I could of used a score boost. I was contmeplating on DoWing him and taking that nice city with my big stack of Praets. Then I saw he is a vassal to my best friend and number 2 on the score list Zara Yaqob. That set me back and made me plan on building up my forces for an medievel attack on my powerfull neighbor Russia and tackling him later. Anyway he breaks his vassalship to Zara and I see an oppurtunity. So I DoW him and send my Stack against Delhi which is a good 15 turns away. As I was going there I was a bit worried aqbout cultural bonsuses since I did'nt have any siege. but as I got there There was only an Axeman And An Archer vs. my 10 Praets in the end I got one of the best cities in the world for one lost praet. The Reason I named this thread what I named it is because he was running caste system and a smart person would have swiched to Slavery and whipped him a few axes and on top of this I passed two swordsmen of his that I think he was going to try and attack me with but would have been better off defending his ONLY CITY. With such a lack of defenders the cultural bonuses were a nonfactor. :D
Now here is a few things Ghandi should of done.

A. Not cancel his Vassalage to Zara thus making him Vunerable to attack by a big mean bully like me :p

B. After I DoWed him he should of swiched to slavery and whipped a few Axes to repel my praets. This is made even worse because Ghandi is spiritual and he would of suffered no Anarchy.

C. He should not have sent 2 swordsmen that could be used to deffend his only city
too die in a attack that would not have a chance against even one or two archers in a good sized city.

D. He should have offered me peace in exchange for Capitulation. (Even though I would not have accepted his offer :p).

Well what do you think of my flexibilty and descisive action in adapting to changes in the situation :smug:

Yes, it often fools the AI to save your strength and go straight for the capital, ignoring other cities. After catapults and siege come into play, that move doesn't work as well.

The AI's are dumb, but they get a bagillion bonuses on higher levels, so even though they are morons, their shear amount of bonuses can make them hard to beat.

I recommend upping your difficulty level to compensate for the AI being predictable and dumb.

Doesn't ghandi make the least amount of units in the game?

Gandi is not only a Moron sometimes, also AIs hate him. I cant tell why, but here is my story. I roled Gandi on an emporer game. Well.. best UU and a good start, I was happy. I didnt build a lot of units because I was friends with both of my two neighbors, I also managed to get a tech lead to all other players, I played a "lakes" map, so I knew everyone.

First to decide to attack were Saladin. For no reason what so ever. I dont even have borders with him. He traveled half across the map to hit me with 2 quite large stacks. I barely fought him off with some minor losses. I got a great general as reward and felt quite good because I had enough units now which wasnt the case before. Around 3 turns after we made peace, the amercans decided to declare War. The least advanced and smallest nation on the map. Well, he was no match, I build even more troups and fought his forces off, getting one more GG. After peace, I was #2 in Units in the world. So i was SURE no one would dare attack me and I could finally get back to my economy because I still had a tech lead and was savely sailing for Lieberalism. I intended to end the game with culture since .. well, its Gandi.
Just abound 5 turns after I made peace with the idiots from Amerca, my neighbor and second best friend Suryavarman with about +7 in diplo declared on me. Let it get straight one more. The world had seen 2 wars so far. Both declared on me. I won both without much of a scratch and he declares on me. I had a huge tech lead on him: maceman and he didnt even had metal casting. Still, he declares. I vassel him, killing 3 of his useless cities in the midle of the ice reagon and taking one of his major cities getting a GG in the process. Now my unit spamming city produced instand CR3 units which is very convinient in any war. I easily was #1 in units and still had a teach lead to the other AIs which had never happened before. I was second in scores because my land was quite small with just 6 cities, but I wasnt planing to expand because I was aiming for culture and 6 cities is enough even if it is not optimal.
In the mean time, Saladin decided to attack the Cyrus, my other neighbor and best friend which I had to almost to friendly. Cyrus decided to demand DOW from me on Saladin which i declined because I had my hands full with Sury. He made peace with Saladin around when I vasseld Sury.

Ok, I should have been save now. With lots of troops and teach lead. But as if "kick me" was written on my forehead, Cyrus decided to declare on me. I have absolutly no idea why. We were friends, I had more units than any other nation and he just came out of a war with Saladin. I dont get it. Anyway, that was when I decided to quit the game. I wasnt going for domination with Gandi. I wasnt even in the mood of war. For once, after I dont know how many games of coquest, I wanted a peaceful game. But aparently, the AI hates Gandi.
