Give bad advice

Declare war on the strongest civ, if you have a small army. The other nations will help you. Ignore the lines that say MPP going from them to him.

212 fahrenheit: Sign MPPs and RoPs with everyone, no one would DARE attack you then.

If you want to invade that other continent and there's a weak Civ, just go ahead and start the war without checking to see if they have any MPPs. The other civs won't honor it anyway, and there's something to be said for fighting Dutch, French, and Celtic troops to get into Incan territory. They probably won't let their allies use their railroads anyway. And make sure you do this knowing full well that you have no access to oil; I'm sure they'll all be too busy fighting to develop planes, cruisers, or tanks anyway, and infantry really get the job done on offense. Finally, when you surround your beach head city with barricades, don't bother to put anyone in them. I'm sure if you lock the doors or something, the AI won't be able to use them...

::sigh:: wow, typing all that out, I really can't believe how stupid I was.

Always start building pyramids at 4000 bc. Don't worry if you don't start with masonry. Turn the luxury slider to 80% and science slider to 20%. Your capital should have a entertainer, then wait until masonry is finished. Build the pyramids immediately and make sure to have a citizen work grassland and try to grow the city so you can have 5 entertainers. Also, send your worker to a ai capital and declare war. The worker will deal with their military with no problems as long as you have built a mine near their city, because mines give a bonus to defence for the unit on that square. When pyramids is finished, try to get 1000 gold as fast as possible while still having 80% luxury and at least 60% of your citizens to be entertainers. When you have 1000 gold, increase your science back to 20%. Then, research bronze working and iron working. When finished, declare war on all ai's you have met so far. Pyramids will give you invincibility, so don't worry. Pump out as many workers as you can. Find a iron resource and colonize it. When that's done, build a swordsman and another worker. Irrigate with all your workers in front of a enemy capital. Attack with the swordsman. Don't worry, irrigation makes your unit more powerful. Even more so if there is a river between the irrigation and the city. Attack the city until it's captured. Raze the city, as it will only be a burden, and will only make you need to get more happiness. After that is done, turn your luxury slider too max, then attack all other cities of the enemies the same way as you did with that capital. You should then have won a domination victory before 1000 ad. Congratulations! You can now beat Sid the best way possible. After winning this, you are automatically super good at the game and capable of winning using far inferior game strategies such as REX, (Rapid Enemy Xtermination) or a late-game tank domination.
Continue to have fun with the game, and remember, if you don't win the first time, use the exact same strategy on the same map until you win. The strategy I showed you will never fail though, so don't worry about that.

Always perform necromancy on year-old threads, it will give the units in your game the power to rise from the dead. You can then disband them all, and they will re-appear next turn. Don't worry about those tanks near your cities, your undead spearmen can defeat them easily.

C'mon, as thread resurrections go, that one was at least worth the wait

[Edit] In fact, it's so long since I played Civ of any kind that I've forgotten how to play. That sounds like excellent advice. Certainly rings some bells. Maybe I should start a game and give it a go! I'll be on top of the HOF in no time, probably.
