There's at least one other Rangers fan here (Where's Gainy Bo when you need him...?). I went to a number of Rangers games in my youth, but always wanted them to lose... until I had a Damascan style moment whilst watching the "Battle of Britain" ('Gers vs Leeds) on the TV when in England - when Leeds went one ahead really early, the commentators were sooooo dismissive of Scottish football that it riled me enough to support the Gers, although Leeds had been my favourite English team when I was young, and Rangers had always been my least liked Scottish team.

Now I always support Rangers when in Europe, though not much of the rest of the time, I'm afraid. Comes from wanting to be different whilst attending a proddy school, I guess....

I can't wait to know who won in the end. :undecide:

Rangers came back from conceding an early goal to win 2-1 at home, and then lead 2-0 at Elland Road before Leeds pulled a late goal back - so 4-2 on aggregate. Rangers continued to the group stage of the tournament before losing out to Marseille (only the top team of the four qualified for the final). Marseille subsequently had endless bribing and cheating allegations against them....

Are you talking about me? Then I'm sorry, but scottish football is hardly favourite topic, even if it was in the CL and only 12 years ago. Now if you tell me the story about the Sampdoria-Porto quarter-final of the CWC in 1995, I might feel ashamed of my earlier ignorance.

My bad. For reasons unknown i confused you with my glue-sniffer, who clearly would know the outcome of that match. That said, it was beamed world wide and only a fool would argue that there was a bigger club in the UK than Rangers in the late 80's early 90s....really the likes of Man utd owe their stature to Sky's money of the last decade.

Whereas I go to a Catholic school...

I'm a keen Rangers fan. They are having a bad spell at the moment, but will win at least 1 Trophy this year :king:

Btw, WTH do you support Rangers for if you live in Coventry ? :p

Note that I only said I support Rangers when they're in Europe. A Celtic vs Rangers game, for example, will have me supporting the Bhoys.

Secondly, I've been to quite a few Rangers games over the years, just through having friends who supported them. This includes a pre-season friendly which was the only time I've ever watched the Chinese national team play.

Thirdly, I don't live in Coventry.

:)

The last comment was almost certainly directed at the thread starter who does support Rangers and has Coventry as his location.
