Global Highland Challenge Pitboss

It's not like you could've done much even if you did play. Your whole army was away fighting Munro, and some archers in a non-hill city would've had pretty low chances of killing any of my units after bombardment.

This is a setback that was not my fault at all. I wouldn't oppose anyone else asking for a reload if they were in my position.

Well, sorry Sommerswerd for kicking you to AI. I reacted too promptly!
From what I understand, this has caused also a problem for Amask, with the double move.
Given your feedbacks, I'd agree with the reload. I would restart from the closest save, before I turned Sommerswerd to AI. Are you OK with that ?
I'll wait anyway for about 8 hours, before doing so (I am away today).

I don't object to reload... just seemed like a waste of time to me... but I guess since I have been wasting everyones time already by missing turns:p

It seems like BS_Prophet feels that the AI thing caused him major damage, I'm not sure how, but still, I am sorry for that:(. I am OK with either me being booted back to AI:( or Prophet getting his reload... Whatever gives everyone the most warm and fuzzy gaming experience:D

@BS_Prophet - My point was that since I have been gone, you have essentially been quadruple/quintuple moving me (is that even a word?) so it just seemed a little funny that you were asking for a reload when the AI double moved you back. Anyway, I told you I didn't mind you DM'ing so that's not the issue... about my army being away fighting Munro... Ive made peace with Munro ages ago, so If I had been playing that army would hve all been in my capital not idling somewhere far away...

If your point is "Well it doesn't matter cause I was going to win anyway, then I agree, and point out that you are still going to win, so why reload and make everyone replay? Because you lost 1 extra unit? That was my point... which really is no point, because I don't object to the reload... so this whole post is just an exercise in philisophical discussion:)... which is what I like about CFC... its a place to engage in fun philisophical debates about a game that I think is loads of fun;)

Kicking a missing player, whose civ has not moved in current turn, to AI is a guarantee of a double turn by that civ ... which may or may not result in a double move, right?

dV

I completely agree with Amask / BS_Prophet on this one. The double move happened without his knowledge or consent, he couldn't have done anything about it and it came at significant cost. It's not at all comparable to knowingly missing your turns.

Anyway, BS_Prophet isn't really competing against sommerswerd at this point, but the likes of Elkad and Rusten - so the setback is meaningful to him even if it doesn't affect the outcome for sommerswerd (and I don't think sommerswerd could have anything to slow him down even if he had been playing his turns, and the speed is what matters).

So I would fully support the reload. I guess we need to go back to the recovery save for Dreylin's last login at 5/1/10 12:25 pm (PDT) as he was the last human to play that turn? If we reload to the end turn autosave with Super Nova already kicked to AI at that point, it will be too late to prevent the AI from repeating the double move.

Dreylin: can you avoid logging in again until it's been reloaded to avoid overwriting that save?

Anyway, sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion and triggering all this, and good to hear that sommerswerd does plan to stick it out to the end.

Exactly.

But have no fear from me guys, Indiansmoke may have willed me a great position, but I'm squandering it away as fast as I can.

Ok, then I'll reload using the Dreylin's save. I supposed it was the best solution but I wanted confirmation ;) It should be back up in some minutes.

Because I am nice, I am making sure you don't mess with Smokey legacy

Spoiler :
Your welcome :hatsoff:

Thanks everyone. I realize it may seem petty, but I've played games before that were decided by a single unit; also I'm a tad more meticulous than a lot of people, and things like this bother me, sometimes more than I'd like. But yea, thanks.

Well much as I'd like to stick around while you all pick over my corpse, I'm off on holiday next week (9th-18th May). ;)

But just to make certain you don't find it too easy I've recruited Broker33 to look after things until I'm back or dead.

Well since I am walking in to this in such a dominant position I feel I can be magnamous. I will accept all 4 of your surenders and will not ask tribute :p
