I have a friend who doesn't want a Gmail account because he has no need for 2GB of space. Go figure.

If you try using it, you will see that it is better than hotmail in any possible way (perhaps exept that it can't be used with messenger, but whatever.)

Actually, I think I'll gradually transfer all my email activity to gmail and eventually leave hotmail to flounder in spam

I've no idea. Apparently the only thing they allow are letters and numbers.

You can use it for that purpose, but I'd still recommend keeping a backup on a CD somewhere, instead of relying on Gmail to keep your backups.

You can use periods, too (ale.of.ginger, for example ).

Yeah, I don't know how far they will be going with the space. But it's counting very, very slowly right now, as it was yesterday.
