Small improvements cost 1 gold maintainance, Medium ones 2 or 3. Universities, Stock trade Markets and Factories cost 4 !!! It is understandable that costs rocket if industrialisation is pursued without the necessary focus upon population growth... Anyways, U'll manage :king:

* No news...

Sorry Yop, but your AI didn´t want to talk :(

*Prussia pleased with first British compensation installment arrivivn over Russian (and Swiss) bank accounts :) (there is a new PBEM utility for PBEM diplomacy- I suggest we stick to it as u can EVEN override AI negations)

*Our fleet grows at remarcable speed

*No further news

King George abdicates!

On the 11th of February, ironically the same day as the long-forgotten British capture of Liege, King George abdicated the British throne. He stated that he had failed his people and had no desire to sit on the throne in shame.

In order to prevent Britain from again walking down the path of agression, he also singlehandedly reorganized the government. Universal manhood suffrage has been assured in elections of the parliament, and local lords have no gold coming their way. All unelected government officials will reach their positions by merit alone. And now the parliament, with two houses elected in a manner similar to that of the U.S.' new bicameral legislature, will have the power. They will in turn elect a Prime Minister to exercise executive authority next month.

On a separate note, this new system's greatest effect is that merchants now are able to operate completely unregulated, so national revenues are skyrocketing from their increased profits. It is believed that the remainder of war reparations can be paid in the next two turns! :goodjob:
