Harbor and Commercial Hub (CH) usually provide an average of 4 Gold adjacency bonus each, in sum an average 8 Gold per city.
There are 2 economic policy cards to double the adjacency bonus, in sum an average 16 Gold per city.
In a Golden Age there is the option to get bonus science based on Harbor + CH adjacency bonus which sums up to an average 16 science per city which is stronger than a Campus with buffed library and university.

The effect depends on the map type and overall availability of coast tiles, sea resources and rivers. An inland desert empire will not be able to get such a bonus.

As demonstrated by @Victoria the RNDY makes this strategy even better.
This is the right link.. 21 science -
21/21 shot

I've played it quite a bit of this strat because it was not simple and despite ravings about silly theoretical values on other forums this strat does not always work well, in fact rarely.
For a start you have to start by the sea to have a shot. if not by a river then its -6 science per turn(-4 without Reyna), about 70% of the time you are by the river you cannot get the right resources . For each sea resource you will get +4/+6 science per turn. So starting by the sea, in the right river placement you realistically only get 1 sea resource normally but 2 sometimes... 3 is a freak occurence. Then for each other city you miss Reyna but still can be great science if all goes well.
Then we have the golden age, you need 2 in a row classic and Medi, its gone at Renaissance and you really feel it when it goes, your science drops a lot, even if you have countered with Campi you feel it and you have been slowed by it. You really need to start scount to have the best chance and be ready to circumnavigate for era points.
Then there is the point that you have to get 2 settlers out, harbours built, naval line researched (takes a while early) - you do get a little vulnerable with this strat from a strong attack, even from kongo I struggled once.

Don't get me wrong, it's a real fun and different strategy but getting 3 rivers in stupidly impossible, especially with the right resource layout for the triangle. When it works, its ok.
but hot? it is not. I do recommend playing with RNDY mainly because of the half price but the +2 gold off continent can be v strong
