Goldfool's Graphics

I was combining my Caribou Tundra Irrigation with the Penguin Resources, to make a new Tundra Irrigation and I noticed that shadows on the Penguins are wrong, they are opposite to the Caribou.

So I fixed that and made a new Tundra Irrigation with both Penguins and Caribou.

Here's a preview, not sure if anyone actually uses these, I'll post the file if anyone wants it.

Caribou are from the Northern Hemisphere, penguins from the Southern. It'd be logical if their shadows fell in different directions. :p

Thanks Meteor Man for the positive response, it is appreciated.

I thought of that, but even that was wrong as I had them both opposite to what they are in our world.

Since is this is not our world and is actually some alternate time line, I am happy to mix the two together (plus we can't pick locations:)).

Here is a preview with a new file that also includes hanging meat/skins. It looks a lot like my Tobacco resource, but I'm going to pretend it is skins for the tundra tiles.

I've posted these on post #212 of this thread, you can just click My Library below for the link.

Tundra Irrigation Using: Caribou, Penguins and Hanging Meat

This BB upgrade they just did really messed up my thread/library.

I just spent several hours getting it back up and running. The editor has several limitation on size of the post, and it seems to add unwanted stuff as you edit. I would make changes and it would add stuff on its own and then say my thread was too big to post and then it would add more unwanted stuff.

I had to clear the post out completely and create new posts in notepad, then copy them in, it definitely disliked some of the old BB codes I used in my posts and in my signature.

I tested most but not all of the links, let me know if there are any problems.

Could you please make another PCX for the fortresses and barricades?

Standard fortresses cover too much space. It's impossible to see the mines under them.

I suggest putting a smaller version of the standard fort in the right corner.

And for the barricades add a subtle fence/moat/wall/sandbags/barbed wire around the tile (resembling the ones used in the standard art), leaving the center empty. This also highlights the fact that only the barricades stop enemy movement. As pointed out here, the fence shouldn't be too close to the edge, otherwise it would overlap with the rivers.

That post also shows that the fence could be made octagonal, to better communicate that it does not block passage between diagonally adjacent squares.

tmn,

Maybe I could take a look.

Do you want a single era or are you looking at multiple eras.

Are you using the default mines or some mod.

Are you using the default rivers or some mod.

Everything default.

All eras would be perfect, but if that is too much trouble, a single image for all eras would do too.

Thank you!
They do look good in game. I only had to fix the transparency colors, pcx attached. And here are some shots:

era2.png
era3.png

Roads under the moat look a bit weird though. Maybe a wall would be better?

Also I've noticed that the problem with the rivers doesn't exist any more: they are laid down under the barricades. The rivers still overlay the mines (the default ones too), but placing a fort or a barricade in such tile fixes it (like on the ancient era screenshot). :)
