Goldfool's Graphics

Colonies

Continuing to work on the terrain buildings file after posting above the barb camp and barricades, here are a couple colonies.

Both I lifted from tom2050:
1) The tents are unmodded just copied from his unit splash.
2) The other colony is one that I modded quite a bit, but all the elements are from his posting.

Here is a preiview:

Nice work :)

Thanks!

I wanted something different from the Firaxis colonies, there doesn't seem to be much work done on the colonies. These aren't exactly what I would like, but it's a start.

I'd like to get one for each era.

Hey, they're great!

Thanks!

Here's a preview of the whole file including the Barb camp, the Mine, the Colonies and the Walls (fortresses and barricades).

I was considering entering the file in the monthly competition, but I have to say that a lot of it was manipulating others work, so I think I will pass.

Here is a picture of one of the tiles just so you know it wasn't a straight cutnpaste.

Pounder provides both beautiful gfx and beautiful screenshots.

Is that Sn00py's terrain?

Is that Sn00py's terrain?

Let's see: I recognize Pounder's Jungle with Fog, and that's his Pre-Islam Middle Eastern Town and, hmmmmm, the Stockade border is definitely his (and looks great in this context). I also see a little of his award-winning irrigation set on a hill there, and the gems are from his Resource file.

Other than that, the mountains and hills look like Ares' work, and only the grassland looks like Snoopy's, but Pounder has probably modified all that as well. So,........no?

I have to agree that it all goes very well with Goldfool's barb huts. That screenshot looks so good it makes me want to play whatever mod it comes from. Really.

I notice that there are no roads evident, but if I were to choose a set, I'd choose my own 3d roads because it's the only available set that looks set into the landscape, rather than laid on top of it, and that's useful in a jungle terrain. Just my opinion, of course... (Ok, I couldn't resist putting in a plug for my own stuff :p )
